Haven't been back here in awhile. The '08 finally hit 90k! In another year or so I'll finally get to tackle the timing belt/front engine assembly maintenance (or sell it lol)

My only concern at this point is trying to determine parts that need replaced solely due to their age length (10+ yrs) that are usually addressed by mileage before it's even an issue. That rear, passenger side window motor sure is struggling to let my dog feel the wind through his ears

Opposite problem for the wife's '13 Legacy w/ 150k miles.. I can't keep up with the maintenance and what seems like bi-weekly oil changes.

I'm about to drop my car to my mechanic tonight to get the timing belt replaced, and figured while at it spark plugs and water pump. Wallet is gonna be hurting hahaha...I just hit 105k, have the same exact car like yours.

I don't think you're saving anything by changing the plugs. They're only half way through their interval.

Anyone here with a lightweight pulley? I'm getting a Grimmspeed one and getting it installed when I get my Accessory belts changed.

Do you have to get a stretch fit belt or is the stock OEM belts good enough for lightweight pulleys?

Nice BWX! Have you been able to get out and ride lately? I miss riding, but the drivers are more distracted than ever.

Don'y waste your money. Lightweight crank shaft pulleys are not harmonically balanced, so at higher rpms they allow your crank shaft to wobble and eat your rod bearing. So if you're cool with that then by all means lol.

Yeah I just started riding last year (on the road).. You have to be so careful of idiots in cars.

I got a minibike in April '17 just for fun around the house, then I got a used Yamaha TW200 dual sport bike Sept. and got my Motorcycle license, then I got that new XSR900 in Jan.

In NY it's been a nasty cold winter but I had a few days here and there out on the new bike. It's a blast! The 900 is so fast. Hard to comprehend for me still just how fast it can get to 100+ mph. It tops out at 134 or so limited by ECU. Without limiter it'll do 150. The TW200 can go anywhere and is really fun and lightweight, but slow.

This was a couple days ago...

I definitely got the riding bug. I was going to trade in my 2.5i for a new WRX, but my 2.5i will probably run forever, and WRXs aren't even really that fast. Plus I always wanted to ride bikes and get my license, so I got that 900 instead of trading up for a WRX. This spring/ summer/ fall is going to be great.

I got the Grimmspeed one which isn't as lightweight as others .

From what I understand, there really isn't a Harmonic balancer in Subarus as the crankshaft is really short.

Edit: Cleaned up a bit and installed Jourdan's old Hybrid Intake. Fits tight lol. Getting new hoses and connectors soon and heat reflect tape.

Just responded to you on IG so you'd see it sooner, but from what I've see most people that run rallyX or stage rally in NA subarus end up going with the 4.44 trans and lsd.

Hope this thread can help as its a swap into another model than your OBS.

I recently picked up an 08 2.5i Sedan to use as a commuter car; loving it so far!

I haven't given much thought to the car's aesthetics... From the A-pillar back, it looks to me like major money. When I look at the front, it reminds me of those scowling evil demons on Japanese woodcuts.
I love my 08 impreza
