One case recently the head cracked

The 2.0 and 2.5 may be recalled. Maybe I’m behind on the fb25 announcement

Correction
Rocker slips off and beats the valve spring on the forester into submission
Then the valve drops. So no forester recall. This is a natural low oil pressure or no oil symptom in the foresters. The Impreza spring failure is new to me.

I just received my recall notice. Letter states certain 2012-2014 Impreza and 2013 BRZ and Crosstrek. Subaru says this will affect 140,249 vehicles in the US.

The only positive thing for me is that hopefully when they tear my engine apart, they’ll fix the oil leak they created when they put my new short block in, via the cam carriers or whatever

I dropped a valve in my 07 Impreza not once, but twice. This doesn’t surprise me.

Lol at everyone thinking they’re getting their engine resealed and rebuilt. Not even. Close...

Got the letter on Saturday. Called the dealer this past Monday. All I got was, "The parts are on back order." - and that's it. Actually more worried that the fix could lead to other problems if the work is rushed or not done correctly by a dealer mechanic.

Just FYI, Subaru seems to be having issues with having parts available in general. I've been waiting for almost two months for a dip stick and grommet for the base of the hood prop. I just got an oil change at the dealership yesterday and they've back ordered the cabin air filter. Seriously! That's such a common thing!

No clue what's going on, but the girl who replaced my windshield last month had the hood fall on her face because it wasn't propped correctly with that grommet missing. I forgot to mention it. With the oil change mechanics I almost forgot too, but I remembered at the last second and ran out to tell them. They were appreciative.

It's just a stupid problem to have not having common parts available.

Default Subaru may recall quite a few cars for valve spring issues

I had 135k on my first motor w/o valve spring issues

2nd motor has 35k on it now, its from a 2013 XV so still under recall umbrella.

I honestly don’t know if i will bother, or if they will even perform the work, maybe if i do, i just fail to mention i swapped motors....
