![]() Bought a 2010 outback 2.5 blown head gaskets pulled motor sent heads out when putting the heads back on stripped out a head bolt. Bought a used motor installed in car runs great I have changed many sensors along the way it now keeps sending the p0198 code. I have replaced the oil temp sensor three times now same code instantly. Any ideas new to Subaru’s. Thanks. Carl

![]() If you've replaced the sensor, its likely the harness or connector.
Check the plug and make sure one of the pins hasn't pushed back into the connector. Also check the main engine harness connector, sometimes pins get bent when re-locking it together. If both those check OK; you may need to do a wire continuity test. Sometimes when the intake is bolted back on, the harness can get pinched and goes unseen. |

![]() I bought the motor with 23000 miles didn’t tear it down just inspected it thoroughly. I will check the wire connector and the main plug. Thanks
