Hey guys! New to the WRX game so I'm completely lost on wheel and tire fitments. I have a 2019 WRX and I plan on getting new wheels and tires. I read through about 30 pages worth of posts here and I couldn't find the answer I was looking for.
The wheels I'm looking at are Option Lab R716's and Subispeed sells them with 18x9.5 +35 and 18x8.5 +35.
What tire size can I confidently put on both of those wheel sizes so I don't have to roll/pull fenders, no adjustments to camber, and no rubbing. I do plan on dropping the car no more than an inch all around or if the wheels are flush enough, keep it at stock height. For reference, I was looking at Pilot Sport A/S 3+ at 245/40ZR18. If those tires can fit any of those above wheels, I was planning on getting them.

245 will technically work on both wheels but will be much better on the 8.5". Most go up to a 265 tire on the 9.5" wheel. Also the 9.5" +35 pokes out more and is more likely to rub.

There wouldn't be any stretching of the tires on 18x8.5 +35 with 245/40zr18 right?

Correct. For reference, the stock wheel is 8.5" on a 245 tire.

These are 20x9 +38mm with 255/30R20 at stock height. No rub or issues, ride isn’t terrible but I’m in central CA. Definitely not practical for bad roads.

Hey! If you dont want to do any camber adjustment and not touch your fenders then the 18x8.5 +35 fitment is the way to go. The 18x9.5 +35 fitment it just poking on these cars and with a mild drop and square fitting tires you will rub. Also if you are looking at those 245/40 tires from Michelin they will be a more proper fitting tire on the 8.5 wide wheels.

Did you know what color you were interested in? I can see if we have them available and can get you a deal. Thanks!

Did you need spacers to clear the brembos?

Just a tire newbie here, just wanted some inputs. I'm planning to get some gramlights 57CR, 18x9.5 +38 offset. What is the recommended tire size that I can put on those wheels without doing any suspension mods or rolling? I'm still running on stock suspension. Thanks!

there's like 300 pages with answers... I'll be one of the nice guys and say 245/40 with slight stretch or 255/35 (depending on tire)

I see, yup I was reading through the pages but it seems like there are alot of answers haha.. just wanted to be extra sure since tires and wheels are not cheap for me. Thanks for answer bro! Also, what do you mean by depending on the tires for the 255s?

I think he is referring to the brand and model tire. For example, the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500’s in a 265/35/18 will run more narrow than a 265/35/18 MPSS.

What was necessary to run this wide and offset? Lots of camber and rolled fender? Looks great.

To all you guys running 255/35, how did you meet the required load rating? Discount tire just told me my 2016 WRX requires a 97Y which rules out both the AS3+ and the sport 4S in 255/35. I would have to run 255/40. Is this really correct?
