No kidding, what a way to go. May have more effect on the season than any other change.

The tributes will be heavy.

At least Bert is still leading the pack.

Holy Fark!

I didn't always agree with his raceday decisions but I guess that is an indication of good management.

Agreed, in the best possible way.

There are a couple unique ones but the rest are the generi-swoosh line graphics you get as defaults in a video game.

It's actually kind of bad (or at least incomplete) from the sides as it is the Italian flag:

Charlie Whiting, the head of Formula 1 for motorsport's governing body the FIA and one of the most influential people in the sport, has died aged 66. Just a few days before the opening season this weekend.

Yep. I'll still watch the races, but then I also watch the Super Bowl even when the Patriots are playing.

No surprise that Mercedes on top in practice, but a little surprising that Ferrari is 5th and 9th.

FP2 top ten times:

Hamilton 1:22.600
Bottas 1:22.648
Verstappen 1:23.400
Gasly 1:23.442
Vettel 1:23.473
Raikkonen 1:23.572
Hulkenburg 1:23.574
Ricciardo 1:23.644
Leclerc 1:23.754
Grosjean 1:23.814

Given how red last year could have been I'm not anointing Mercedes yet.

Hopefully it's a closer series.

Wow, both Mercedes dusted the Ferraris & Red Bull in Qualifying.

Mercedes has almost the same time gap as last year.
Both Haas started in the same position as last year. Let see if they can get point this time.
Red Bull Honda looks the same as Red Bull Renault
Good job by Norris.
Williams being Williams.

this year will be worse because Mercedes will be better to the tires than Ferrari; Ferrari will burn the rubber whereas Mercedes will treat the rubber better. Last year was vice versa.

It will be a very dominant Mercedes season; a mediocre driver like Bottas is more than half of a second ahead of the rest of the pack.
