Who notifies you when your car is absolutely on its way? My dealer told me August 27th, and a couple of days later (July 19th) Subaru emailed me saying on or before August 5th. No word since then. Just curious how long prior to delivery owners are notified.

Default So that happened...

Okay so, good news and bad news.

Good news: The car has finally arrived!

Bad news: The car has "significant damage" and Subaru of America is busy trying to find me a replacement.

The SoA guy said that when the car was being unloaded, the shipper forgot to put down a rail. Bam, instant significant damage. The guy who talked to me said that he's been in touch with my dealer, who oddly enough hasn't called/texted/emailed me at all. I'm wondering if the guy is scared to. I'm still a bit surprised. It might wear off tomorrow.

According to the guy who called me, my car is a unicorn. In the country there are six cars with the exact options and paint color and transmission that I ordered. None are remotely close to my city. In order to help him, I told him that I'm open to just about any color other than red or white, with the grey, blue, or black at the top of my list.

Brand new car, possibly totaled. I shouldn't have read that article on MSN with the jeeps and pickup trucks that were involved in a train derailment. The shipping was probably the biggest thing I was afraid of.

Maybe I can get them to toss in a set of good all-season tires as part of an "omg we're so sorry we screwed up!!!" deal, or ask for really good interest rate for financing the car? I mean, I've *only* been waiting since the end of April.

Anyone ever had this happen to them? Not that I donít believe the guy, but should I be asking to see pictures?

Big bummer.

Are they still running the 1.9% interest rate on the WRX? I doubt the dealer can do anything to give you better financing beyond what they normally do.

But they certainly can, and probably will, do something to alleviate the pain. A set of all-season tires, your choice, I think is a very reasonable ask. And free shipping from wherever they find it of course. I would ask for a set of wheels to put the tires on too. The subaru accessory wheels look pretty good if you can get them for free. Then work down from there.

And finally - what's wrong with the white?

What's special about the transmission(same transmission), white color(same white)Ę, or options you have on the car?

Not trying to be difficult, I'm just curious what option I missed out on

Havenít checked on the interest rate. Great idea. I never thought about the wheels too.

With regards to white, itís a personal preference, lol. Iíd be worried about scratches and keeping it clean. Plus I talked a lot of smack on my sister for her getting a white Traverse.

Is the true car value a realistic price for a 2019 at this point in calendar year?

So there are a couple of 2018 STI Limited still sitting on lots, not sure if I should get one with a huge markdown below invoice or get pay about invoice for a 2019 STI and mild engine improvements. From what Iíve read the Ď19s have better power distribution.

In taking to salespeople it seems you should be able to get at least invoice on 2019 STIs on the lot.

Thanks. Price they gave me was about $500 above invoice, which is like $34,500 right? Plus delivery fee of $800?

I should know Monday exactly whatís going on as to when Iíll get the replacement. I stopped into the dealership and spoke with the manager. He said that since it was Subaruís fault that I will be getting compensated. He didnít say how or what will happen with regards to that. He also said the original car is going to be crushed. Iím super sad about that. He said when they (not sure who they referred to) told him what happened his reply was ďOh no, not THAT one.Ē He said it was as bad as if it was a Bugatti being so badly damaged. I had no idea a limited WRX with CVT was so rare. At any rate, Iím super excited for Monday, and I canít remember ever being excited for a Monday.

Ended up ordering a 19. The rims on the 2020 look terrible to me.

Found a dealer that had a 2019 coming in. Base with homelink for invoice. Put a deposit down on it. So order might be the wrong word, but it should be here late Sept.

I picked mine up last night. Itís way more amazing than the base I test drive back in March! Itís WR Blue Pearl and I couldnít be happier. Is the ResistAll worth it? I didnít opt for it but they asked me to think about it. Or is it better to ceramic coat it?

haven't heard of ResistAll but it seems comparable to ceramic coating...check and see if other car guys have used resistall and what their feedback is. i know most people go with ceramic pro.

Thanks! Iíve read some iffy reviews about ResistAll online. Seems it wears off much sooner than ceramic.

Anyone here shopping for remaining 2019s? What are the deals you're seeing? Most of the quotes I've been receiving are at invoice or -500 off invoice. Surprisingly there are still some 2018 STIs on dealer lots that nobody seems to want.
