Just take your bike in to any Porsche dealership and ask to see if it'll fit.

That is the other logical option.

Preferably a dirty bike to see how much dirt falls off when you load and unload it.

There's always the option of 'criminal' enterprises if you need to raise more (tax free) money sooner rather than later

Not sure if you all saw the news, a Taycan exploded in some dudes garage in Florida. Should be interesting to see how this unfolds.

It's Florida, so I expect this story to involve alcohol, a lack of clothing, and likely an alligator.

That's a Base 718 Cayman, not a GTS. I believe those are the GTS tail lights but the rest of the car looks like a base with the premium package.

You can throw the VIN into VIN analytics and get a concrete answer.

Great thing about Porsche is the VINAnalytics website. As long as you have a vin you can get a full build sheet. This should really sell in the low 50's TBH with zero performance options and a base model.

Of course it's overpriced, but everyone trying to make their profit margins...

More like Carmax just over-asking. My local dealer has a nicer base '18 listed $2k less, and they'd probably sell it for cheaper. CPO to boot

I've wanted to own a Porsche for a very long time. The used car market has brought at least the 996 in range for me to finally have a chance to own one. I've found two that I'm interested in, one is a 2000 Carrera 4 and the other is a 2004 base model. The Carrera 4 is a bit more, so is it worth it?

can you grab the VINs for each one?

this may be a useful guide to look at

https://www.porscheclubgb.com/region...)-buyers-guide

In general you need to watch out for the IMS bearing, as they're known to fail and grenade those engines. Getting the oil checked for metal shavings would be a good indicator if there is a problem. There is a replacement kit to solve this, which runs about $2k installed IIRC. Also, another potential issue is oil leaking from the RMS - if you find one you like get a PPI from a good mechanic and it'll pick up any issues you need to be concerned with

It has all wheel drive so if you're in a climate with 4 seasons, it would be a better year round car if you're planning on daily driving it. Just throw some all seasons or winter tires on it.

The other allure to the C4 is the wide body. That's only available on the C4 and the turbo models I believe.

Outside of that, I'm not sure there are many differences worth noting (I'm also not a 996 expert by any means).

The other difference is the increase in displacement from 3.4 to 3.6, and 20hp starting in the MY02.
