Ok, so a tuned CT4 twin turbo 6, with AWD. For under $50k. And they got rid of all the crap in the interior and simplified and straightened it all. Can probably be tuned a little better and ... push 400hp easy. I'm looking at you Livernois.

Caddy like this with a turbo 4 banger is like Porsche putting a turbo 4 in the Cayman, it just don't belong.

Oops, thought it was a twin 6... yes, and for some reason I skipped right over the 2.7 four. Brain fart. No longer want. LOL (Thought I read it elsewhere... not sure what's going on with my brain)
I saw this "twin-turbo V-6" and just thought it was with the rest. --kC Last edited by KC; 07-12-2020 at 01:47 PM. |

Keeping it 4 cylinder was a good plan if you have a good 4 cylinder to use. Lightens everything. The design is pretty good for first impressions. Camaro-ish.

I drove with a CT4-V from roughly Iowa City to the 88 oasis on Sunday. It looked nice and held 90mph with no trouble. The Blackwing looks really nice, gets great reviews and has a manual. Assuming one can be found around MSRP it's a good offer. And it's got the same cup holder layout as my 05 WRX.
That is a nice blue and you can get BBS-looking bronze wheels. Last edited by Yotsuya; 01-11-2022 at 10:54 AM. |

Thanks Guys
Well..usual Cadillac Crap. (I don't want to order, plus it would long time to get it). Did some quick internet searching of inventories. 1. Just about everyone is between 70 to 85 thousand dollars. I figured that. 2. But I did find one kinda close to my Pa location. Sale guy say Oh yeah..It's got manual, Black paint. I said is loaded with options. He said, not really it has two Tech package and Climate package. Then the Cadillac/ Gm craps starts. 59 dollars car with 2 cheap minor options turns into 11K. To get the options you have get Data Recorder.. Heating steering wheels, fancy leather interior.. f that.. Go to Edmunds put in 2022 Ct4 blackwing ad Climate package and tech package you'll see what I'm saying. And these options don't have anything in them it's just fluff..joke |

I was just thinking. I love to see him review the same exact car in 24 to 30 months later. That would be a good review. Because you know all the guys that are reviewing the car are you doing the same thing he's doing. slamming on the brakes testing it, testing it hard. So it would be interesting to see how it holds up how, the paint, how many did it end up at the dealer, interior rattles. Last edited by AVANTI R5; 01-12-2022 at 06:30 AM. |

has anyone seen any performance upgrades for the 2.7T CT4-V (non-blackwing)? any component failures common following the modifications?

I haven't driven one, but I drove a pre-owned non-BW CT4-V which was "OK enough". The 2.7 turbo was decently peppy, and the auto trans was not bad at all. A dealer near me sells them for MSRP-ish. They don't mark up the car, but install a package of dealer options on all their cars. That was close enough for me. But the dealer has a backlog of orders, so it has not been submitted to GM yet. They expect the car to come in around January, plus/minus a couple of months. I agree with AVANTI that these cars have lots of options of increasingly questionable value. My build has the manual trans and only 3 options: paint, caliper color, and seats. The seat choice has a couple of option packages that automatically go with it). MSRP on my build is $66.7k. With the dealer options, the price will be right at $68.0k, +TTL. Last edited by Berserker2; 04-10-2022 at 12:17 AM. Reason: specified "manual trans" |

Oh, yeah, manual.
The Blackwing might be the last manual I ever purchase. The '18 Nissan Frontier I bought a few years ago was my first automatic in 35 years, and as I get older I sometimes have aches and pains that make driving the truck easier than messing with the STI. And The Great Electrification is coming. I've been in the "sport compact" world for almost 18 years. Two Evos, a WRX, and my current STI. Not gonna lie, I was a little sad the first time I walked out into my garage after ordering the Caddy. But I was sad when I got rid of the first Evo, too. And I got over it. LOL. Berserker2 You'll love it. Solid choice. I'm worried About That Time you stated Jan.2023.. Ka Wowzer..Hope You read All The Print When You Gave Money
Here's some Codes you Might Need going down the Pike.. Think About It..this will Be the last in your Life to Order Big Americana Engine with Manual Transmission That drinks high octane swill like an Elephant bathing. Peace hope your 6000 is sooner then later ..73 Avanti 500, this is a dealer stock order code used to order common vehicles. Please contact your dealer to receive an actual active order number. • 1100, Preliminary order accepted (This means your dealer has entered your order into their system but does not mean they have the allocation to submit the order to GM yet. Speak with your dealer to verify when they expect to be able to submit your order for production) • 2000, Order accepted by GM (This means the order has been submitted and accepted by production. You are now on your way.) • 2030, Order re-edited (if necessary) (This is simply an edit code showing that something on your order has been changed. It does not mean your order has been accepted to production and really does not mean anything beyond your previous status other than a change has been made.) • 2051, Order changed thru Web (same as above) • 2500, Order preferenced (This means that the Order has been moved to the stage that parts department is now ready to place the orders for the components that will become your car) • 3000, Order accepted by production control (This is the response from production to your 2500 status and is when Parts are actually ordered. No further changes can be made to your order once you reach this point.) • 3100, Order available to sequence (This is more or less an inter-office memo from Parts to Production saying all parts are committed to this build, they are clear to sequence them for the build.) • 3300, Order scheduled for production (This is the response to the 3100 status where Production is cleared to sequence and schedule the build) TPW usually avaiable • 3400, Order broadcast (This is when the order is actually loaded onto the production line computers and parts are being staged for the build) • 3800, Order produced (The vehicle is completed and has rolled off the line. A Vin is now available.) • 4000, Available to ship (Vehicle is off the line and available to ship) • 4104, Bailment Invoice (Shipping documents generated) • 4200, Shipped (Vehicle has been moved by a carrier to another location or destination. If in combination with a 4300 status code then this is transfer to either a vendor for upfitting or to a distribution yard for final transportation.) • 4300, Intermediate Delivery (In combination with a 4200 this is saying that the vehicle has been transported to a vendor or to a distribution center.) • 4B00, Bayed (listed anytime a vehicle is sitting parked waiting for next mode of transportation. It can also be this status while in Quality Control) • 4800 Rail Ramp Unload, end of the line by (if) rail. To be delivered by truck to dealer • 5000, Delivered to the dealer • 6000, Delivered to the customer • 9000, Order Cancelled |

Wow, this is excellent! I found a place where people who ordered Blackwings are talking about their codes, but had not bothered to search for a reference list yet. You just handed it to me on a platter.

At this point, I am OK with the delay if it means I get the car exactly the way I want it. I get to pick the body color, wheels, caliper color, seat type and color, and transmission. There are 1,200 combinations of those options. I chose a low-key "sleeper" spec that looks like a grandma would drive. Yeah. It's the end of an era. My next car after this will almost certainly be electric. |
