I’d recommend their ECF-1 to add in fuel pressure and a wideband as these are very important if you’re looking to run E85. The MTX-D will work since it has the 5v output signal that the AP/tuner needs

That's just a gauge.

I guess I should have clarified as well with my post. These gauges are not a direct “swap” for the Cobb kit, but they can be used to run E85 as you can use the 5v output and wire it in through the TGV connector as Cobb does with their kit. See the DIY Flex Fuel Kit for under $100 thread for reference. Obviously you’ll need to do additional wiring and a tuner that knows that they’re doing

Right... so I don't see why you couldn't make it work.

Doing what your thinking as we speak. I have that setup now and just had the harness made to plug into the rear o2 plug. you will need to purchase a flex fuel sensor and some hardware to get it hooked up to the fuel lines.

I figured my v3 AP could read any ethanol sensor I just didn’t know how well this one worked or where I would wire the plug for it. Once you get yours set up would you pm me a picture?

I’ve also contemplated getting the AEM sensor seeing how that is more known and the same price range would the wiring be the same as the innovate?

Well, that changes things a little. What ECU are you running and how are you planning to tune the car? Depending on those answers you may not be able to run E85, or anything above the standard pump 93 with E10

The Innovate products are pretty rock solid that there is no need to go with AEM (honestly I’ve had better luck with Innovate than AEM).

So this works fine with a subaru ECU? The issue with the GM flex fuel sensors is that they don't output a 0-5V signal that the ECU reads, just a PWM signal. Does the Innovate gauge convert the signal so it can be directly wired in and used to tune with? If so this is great for people that don't want to spend the money on the Cobb kit but are still handy enough to splice a few wires.

For those wondering, if you don't have TGV connectors anymore you can use the rear O2 sensor wire.

Yes, the innovate gauges convert the signal to a 0-5v output. Just had my ‘02 WRX swapped RS tuned for flex fuel using the e85 output signal through a tgv sensor and the wideband output through the rear o2 sensor (as previously mentioned, I’m using the ECF-1). Note to do this on the early model 16bit ECU’s you have to go opensource

I just recently installed one of these kits in preparation for flex on my 16 WRX. I just need to wire up the harness for the rear o2 before it's time to start tuning. Found a sweet deal deal on Amazon for like $160 with the sensor, so I couldn't pass it up. Accuracy seems pretty good for reg e10 pump. Range is always between 10.2-10.8. Fabbed up a diy "cubby pod" replica for it.

But on an engine that did not come with tgvs is what I'm asking, as to why you wired it this way instead of into the tgv connector...

Have steps on how to accomplish this? Very interested in how you went about it.

For the wiring, I used two tap a fuse into the dash fuse box. Bottom one for power in an empty 12v slot - attached to red wire of gauge, and one upper one in the illumination fuse slot for the light dimmer - attached to the white wire of gauge. Both need a 5v fuse in the outer slots of the tap a fuse for the gauge. I just grounded it to a frame bolt behind the center console where it's mounted.

For the gauge pod, just cut it out of a spare piece of metal I had leftover from the box I fabbed for my Perrin intake. Picture below before install.

Only cause I have it bookmarked.

https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2810122&highlight=delphi

However I was awfully scared of all the issues they were having.

This looks very attractive though, using the innovate gauge output through the TGV. Has anyone had this successfully work? Be nice to spend the 160 versus the 600....

Would match my 3 other innovate mtx gauges nicely too....
