Default Broken heater / air blend knob

The heater knob on my 2004 WRX that controls the inside/outside air mix broke off and I am trying to replace it. I tracked the knob itself down ("knob heater control" part# 72363FE020) and the heater base plate it connects(?) to ("Base Plate Heater Control" part# 72321FE011) but when ordered the knob and base plate, the base plate is bare and doesn't include the slider mechanism that the knob attaches to. The parts diagrams I am looking at don't show any other related pieces apart from the cable. Does anyone know what part # I am missing here?

Can't you just attach the knob to the old slider? Odds are part of the knob is still stick in it and you'll need to pull that out before you can get the new one installed.

If not, you can get the whole assembly used from a you-pull-it sort of lot, or even off ebay (just took a look and there are 10 of them on there - it's the same control for the Impreza and WRX 2002-2004)

Unfortunately the slider is what broke, right at the point the knob connects to it, leaving part of the slider stuck in the knob which is why I need to replace both.

I don't know of any good junk yards in the area but I see what you mean about EBay. I'll see about picking up a used assembly. Thanks for the tip.
