Looks like Acura is confirming a 6MT will be offered.

I really hope that this will be a "nicer" AWD CTR. If they don't price it too high, I'd take that over the new Golf R or whatever fugly thing the STI shows up being.

IF you base it off the civic hatch and give it real Acura integra magic. I think this could be great.

The 1.5T in the hatch sport has a few really good reviews. No it will not be supercar fast, but if it is good reliable sporty fun. I would enjoy it.

That would make too much sense for Honda. Next confirmation will be FWD.

I would bet if an AWD version is offered, it will be AT or DCT only.

I'm fine with a DCT, so long as it's good. I have a left knee injury that makes a clutch painful. I still drive stick, but I'm not a "stick or GTFO" guy.

Yes! Interesting, that does not sound like my 1.5T, makes me think the 2.0T might have the 6mT.

We know it's based on the Civic hatch and will have a 1.5T and 2.0T Type S. We don't know if SH-AWD will be available or if the 2.0T will be detuned or not.

I'd say being a Type S it's probably not going to match the Type R for output.

It would seem odd to go through all the trouble of making an Integra 2.0T 6mT hatch, and not offer SH-AWD. But it wouldn't surprise me.

I guess the question is will it be a True Integra (a tarted up Civic Type R), or a new performance one with AWD.

For a Type S, they could use the detuned 2.0T from the Accord. It would be the upgrade from the 1.5T but not over take the Type R. It would fill the small void the Accord 2.0T 6MT left too. Who knows, this could leave room for an Integra Type R.

They used to have the ITR and CTR side by side years ago right? So why not again now? Would make sense for them to drop awd into the ITR and make it a little more of a GT car, while leaving the CTR to be a fwd track oriented car.

Then again, I originally thought this was going to be a fwd automatic boringfest so who knows at this point.

I think it will be the remedy to the ILX. Instead fixing it to complete with A3 etc. They will throw an Integra into the mix. 1.5T with CVT base model. Acura will slap stick shift and 200hp 1.5 T from the Si. Usual upwards A spec , type S. If you think it's going to be AWD turbo stick bitch..sorry

If it's a rebadged (and stylistically muted) Type-R with the 2.0T, 6mt & SH-AWD it might make a compelling option for my wife; she is bored of slow FWD stuff but still wants to row her own gears; she isn't comfortable with RWD in the winter (even with nannies) yet. If it's anything other than that, well, Honda continues to make cars that have zero interest to us.

It's just as ugly as the new Hype R. But yeah, SH-AWD and 6MT would make me forget.

Honda is stubborn AF. In 2002 they made this GP bike, the RC211v. To this date, the best racing motorcycle I ever saw and I'm a racing fiend. 5 cylinder beast. Honda literally had a line at the ready at every stealer, world wide. All of us begging for a street version, for years! They went back to the V4 with the 800cc in 2007. So we asked for a street version (not a VFR). We literally begged them for a V4 Fireblade. That was 14 years ago, nope, inline 4 only. They did eventually make a new V4, which is in my garage, but it's a 1200cc sport tourer and not the same thing as a 1000cc sportbike beast. Even when customers beg them, the answer is no. Infuriating.

Golf R is it unless the GR Corolla comes out with all the goodies.

$184,000 asking price, ~250 hand built bikes per year, reservation required - yeah that explains why I hadn't heard of it; would love to ride one though.

I'll definitely be paying attention to this thing.

As far as I can recall, THE US Type S wasn't as hard core as the JDM Type R, so I'd expect this to be more civilized than the CTR.

If it's basically an AWD Si, sign me the F UP (I don't want to spend CTR money )

Whatever the Type S comes with it will have at least a $10k markup.

I have seen the price and seriously considered buying it. I contacted the dealer as soon as this was announced. Then life happened. Nuff said. Now I get to bitch about the 2022 WRX

Highly doubt sh-awd on anything except for top level trim with auto, same as always. As much as I would like to see something special here, I expect it to be nothing new other than a higher priced civic with some added tech like fancy headlights and a stupidly over complicated screens inside that require 17 button pushes to change the temp. But it sure would be nice to see a driver focused take on it. The civic is great starting point.
