![]() Yeah, I guess Honda is really the only one doing it that's annoying me. Audi doesn't try to pawn off it's liftbacks as hatchbacks.

Looked good in beginning zinging down road in second gear. I hoping the rev hang would be gone with light flywheel. I'm gone grab one. Unless dealers are totally bunkers with price. Which will probably happen. |

![]() I wish the Si sedan has roof anchor points for receiving factory or aftermarket cross bars. I can forego a hatchback if there are hard mount cross bar option for bike, storage box, surfboards, etc. I've had the clamp style ones on two cars that grab onto the top of the door openings, but they really mess up the clear coat and weather stripping over time, and won't go that route again.

![]() If the Si has some old Type R suspension bits, I wonder if the new Type R will get the Type R LE suspension.

![]() Anyone think it's really weird to have colored inserts in the front seats and doors only for the back seats and doors to have none? It's like the front and rear seating areas are from two different cars. Seems like Honda went a bit too far with the cost cutting.
Not in the Si. Way overboard cost cutting on this car. |

![]() Dyno numbers and real world testing numbers on the new Si are contradictory. 20HP gain, but slower 0-60 times, bigger brakes but longer 60-0 distance, type R suspension bits but lower lateral G's ?
BTW, I didn't realize the Si specific seating and door placards were omitted from the rear passenger seats/doors. That is some serious cost cutting and frankly it gives the car a cheap/econo box feeling. Might be worth going to Canada and buying this there since it has so man of the omitted features (led rev gauge, dual climate control, full digital cluster, heated seats, heated steering wheel, fog lights). Honda America really short changed us on this one. |

Si is not a bargain in the U.S. it remains so in Canada. More bang for the buck up there. |

Is car inflation going nuts in Canada like in the US? I have to think Honda might be reacting to that as well. It's surprising to see them raise the price so much ($2k?). So I wonder if that's related to the inflation we're seeing everywhere. You can't compare car prices in 2022 to before Covid - that inflation isn't going away. |

![]() it's boring and anonymous. Civic relies heavily on young customers. Will be interesting to see if they take to this new Civic or if this is the same every other generation misstep we've seen from Honda for over 20 years.

![]() So just like Subaru Honda chooses to play it safe because they know the people buying these just want practical, reliable cars that get good MPG and aren't flashy. |

https://www.autoblog.com/2021/04/29/...usaolp00000618 7th gen "This was a bit of a weird one" 8th gen "And this was the correction." 9th gen "The ninth-gen Civic was yet another swing of the pendulum." 10th gen "It's possible we're over-using the word "correction" in this story, so let's just say the 2016 Civic was a true clean sheet." There's some force acting within Honda to mute the styling of the civic, but every time they do it, it negatively impacts some mix of sales, incentives, and sentiment and they end up fixing it the next generation. ![]() I saw one in the parking lot today. It doesn’t look like a cheap car. It’s big though — too big for me.
