Default 02 WRX, 5w-30 vs. 0w-40 mobil1?

The previous owner always used Mobil1 0w-40 since the car's beginning and now I own it with ~60k, wouldn't I benefit more performance and fuel economy with 5w-30 mobil1? The engine consumes no oil
