Default Help from 1997/98 Outback/Legacy Owners: Idle

Quick question from anybody who has a 97/98 Outback/Legacy 5MT:

Once your car is warmed up, let's say a normal day, normal temperature, after driving for 15-20 minutes, you're at a stop light, in neutral, foot resting on the brake.

What is your idle?

I'm having idle problems with an Outback and trying to figure out how far we're off. After doing the above, we consistantly sit at just a hair above 1000 on the tach. I think it's too high, and we get a CEL P0507 Idle control system RPM higher than expected, and I just want to confirm what it SHOULD be idling at before I start another thread on troubleshooting it.

Thanks kind Subaru owners.
