![]() I remember reading a while ago about a club that you can join to buy a car at invoice or close. You have to wait 4 or 6 months right? I'm planning on a 2003 when they arrive so am interested in it. I've been searching the forums all day and can't seem to find the right keyword to find the post.
![]() Thanks all

![]() Below is a list of organizations/clubs whose members, six months after enrolling, can purchase Subarus at 2***37; below dealer invoice:
American Association for the Advancement of Science American Association of Snowboard Instructors American Canoe Association American Cross Country Skiers American Meteorological Society American Speech-Language-Hearing Association American Veterinary Medical Association Colorado Tennis Association Crescent Ski Council (members of 22 ski clubs eligible) Geological Society of America International Mountain Bicycling Association Leave No Trace Mount Washington Observatory National Brotherhood of Skiers National Gardening Association National Ski Patrol Pennsylvania Horticultural Society Professional Ski Instructors of America Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association Women's Quest Make sure to inquire, before joining, whether the Subaru VIP Partner pricing membership benefit is still available. It costs only $19.95 to become an National Gardening Association supporter and eligible for the VIP Partner pricing. Here are details about how the program works: Quote:

![]() If you don't mind spending a couple hundred over invoice, and you have the membership already, check with Costco:

![]() The only thing that sucks is that you have to be a member for six months. So be prepared to wait for almost 8 1/2 months to get your if you are not a member yet. 6 1/2 to wait for membership recognition and 2 months for the new car to be delievered.

![]() Nothing in the VIP Partnership discount plan requires you to order a car when the one you want is already in stock and sitting on the dealer's lot.

![]() Considering that you can walk into most Subaru dealers and buy one off the lot for $200 over invoice, why would you bother dealing with all that hassle and waiting so long over that small amount of savings?

![]() The best price I have seen for the WRX is $500 over invoice through the Fleet Manager. How are you getting $200 over invoice?

![]() You can also get the Subaru VISA/Mastercard which gives you some % off your purchase based on your card purchases, similar to the GM card which gives like 10% rebate towards a GM vehicle. Good deal but you are stuck to using the rebate for a Subaru - so be sure you are dead set on buying a Subaru for your next car.

![]() I didn't bother with any of those programs. Ordered my 04 WRX two weeks ago at cost including all of the options. Threw in heated seats (buying the wagon) and an STi hood scoop. The process is simple, just click here.
I also have the Chase Subaru MasterCard so I'm racking up Subaru Dollars in the process. Happy hunting. ![]() |

![]() It depends on what car you want to get. Currently the BAJA is selling below invoice. So you have many options. Just figure out what the market is for each vehicle and look at special incentive programs at Edmunds.com

![]() Citibank also has the Driver's Edge where you can apply the points towards the purchase of a new/used car. Not as good though since it's only 2% of purchases, lasts only a few years, and can't be used towads services, parts, etc. The benefit is that you can apply it towards any make/model of car. I had mine for 3 years before discovering the Subaru MC. When I pick up my 04 WRX next month I'll cash in the $1500 Citidollars I've accumulated ![]() Bottom line (IMHO) is that these credit cards really only work for you if you pay your balances off each month. What's the point of earning 3% in Subie bucks if you end up paying most of that back in interest? I have the balance of my card paid off automatically each month. Works so well that I had my mom added to the card so she uses it instead of cash. At the end of each month she cuts me a check for her total purchases. Every little Subie buck helps ![]() |
