The OBS? Oh, you mean the one that shares 90% of it's drivetrain with other Impreza bretheren. You want to be able to ask questions about its suspension? Add RS struts/springs and RS sway bars and now you can ask all your RS questions.

Seriously guys, there isn't that much difference. They are all built on a corresponding sedan/coupe chassis. The powertrain is shared between others in the Subaru lineup. Brakes, power, sway-bars, etc etc... if you don't like it then upgrade it with parts from another model. So the body kits are different... so what. It's not going to perform any different from the sedan. Suspension? The concepts are the same, just apply them to the wagon. What we really have is a slightly heavier, more balanced sedan. Sounds to me like there is a lot of misconception as to what is really different between models.

Stimpy, I'm really envious that you have been so successful. But you may be missing the point,

Almost 36,000 hits, over 400 comments, there's a reason for that.

is it just me, or is there, on the liscense plate, a space between the "y" and the "5" in one picture, and between the "5" and the "n" in the other?

Thank you, Ron and Joe. It's coming along. I need to put in the AGXs and the front/rear Whiteline bars/endlinks. Then my ALK, when it shows up. It's gonna be a busy summer!

- Trent

p.s. Ron, no STi brakes, yet. They are rumored to be in customs right now, but stentorian and I are having a hard time getting ahold of the guy! Cross your fingers for us!

Here is a better pic of the wheels, just don't laugh at my drum brakes!

Thumbs up

Nice car Trent!

I noticed from other posts you're running Eibach springs (please correct me if I'm wrong). The lowering looks perfect, IMO. What size rubber are you using?

Hey, klug. Yup, Eibach/SPD (Pro Kit?) springs. Those are 215/45/17 Sumitomo HTR-Z 2s.

Trent, have you used the tires in the snow and how well did they do? My Champiro's look good and do real well in dry or wet but in snow they are horrible.

No, I had the steel stockers on during the winter. These tires are summer tires, so when the white stuff flies again, it will be snow tires on either these wheels or my 16" MY00 RS wheels.

Talking In all it's glory...

Here's my contribution (took me long enough to get a pic).

I made the bold move of painting the foglight covers completely rather than just the frame (I waited forever for pics of what it looks like and I gave up waiting).

Despite what someone posted, I really don't think Rustoleum's silver is that close of a match for the Platinum Silver.

the honcho's of i_club don't think there's enough difference between the wagons and the sedans to warrant our own forum, which is probably why they're ignoring this.

Why don't we go to the next stage and list some of the problems we've had trying to get info on wagons instead of sedans, start asking questions about the wagons for help that we can't get in other places. Maybe that will help push this into a separate forum?

I 've tried to get the waist "wing" at the rear but don't want to spend next week's pay doing it. Is there a good source for aftermarket wings for the 98 OBS wagon. Even if i have to get a wing midpoint down the rear hatch door so I can eliminate the need for the top wing I'd consider it.

I've got plenty of other topics, but I'll let other people have a chance

Ron, you think that we should start another thread for modification related problems/questions?

Default let's start the list of differences

diffs between sedan and wagon

-different front wheel well size
-no trunk to put subwoofer in for sound systems
-can't relocate battery to trunk
-not as many options for suspension upgrades, for example the sti suspension upgrade offers aluminum 'a' arms for sedan but not wagon
-different f/r weight distribution (I think)

I'm sure there are tons more, but I haven't had my coffee yet.

Keep 'em coming

Yes the plates are different. The 5NOT one's are illegal. The second picture was taken when the car was delivered from the garage.

Currently running Y 5NOT on the front and Y5 NOT on the back after a run in with the law. Most cars including the old bill spend their time looking at my arse.
