Default just ordered my din pocket

i took everyone's advice and tried the dealerships in my area to see if any of them had the pockets lying around. no luck.

so i called up this place in washington state that specializes in subaru parts. the guy i talked to was super cool - name was scott. apparently, a lot of you guys have been calling him up to order the din pocket - because as soon as i told him what i wanted, he asked me if i was a member of i-club. he said that he gives members of i-club a discount on shipping.

Got their details? I was thinking about getting the Schosche kit with the single pocket....but they don't sell things online, which just plain p***es me off.

sorry for the slow response:

here you go:

the part number for the din pocket is 66128AE000

and their number is 800-650-4036 between 8:30am - 5:00pm pct.

ask for scott (if he is there) and tell him you're a member of i-club.

That's what I thought. Is it the 01 Legacy by chance.

apparently, a few people on this board were lucky enough to find them at their dealerships. they usually have some lying around and most often through them away (yikes). i called every subaru dealership in my area and nobody had any lying around.

anyway, i think i paid like $14-17 for mine. if you order it through the dealership, you'll wind up paying like $26-27 for it.

Default wrong part number!

hey!

i got the part number for the din pocket off of northursalia.com

i just emailed him to let him know that the din pocket that coincides with that number does NOT have a flap on it.

if you want the one with the flap on the front of the pocket, this is the correct part number:

66120AE050

yup, it was scott. very nice guy. knows his stuff and is great to deal with. if any of you need to order stuff, get it from scott.

plus, since he ordered me the wrong part, he is paying for the shipping for me to send it back.

unfortunately, i don't have a digital camera.

on a side note, the new din pocket scott sent me didn't fit. since i have the alpine 7897 hu, it had to be mounted on the bottom because of the flip out display. the din pocket with the flap appears only to fit in the lower din. when i tried to mount it to the top din, it was sitting too far back and i couldn't reach the latch to open it up.

if anybody is interested in the din pocket i'd be willing to sell it. just remember, it only fits in the LOWER DIN SPACE (so basically it would go in between your hu and the hvac controls).

Hey, is that DIN pocket you have the one with the cover for it? If it is and you still have it, I'd def be interested. E-mail me ([email protected]) if you still have it!

terpWRX, i have the same apline head unit, and the same pocket. I mounted the pocket on the top with no screws. It fits pretty snug and looks great.

SubyDoobyDoo,

i tried mounting mine like that also (without the screws). it fit kinda snug, but it was still a little loose -- like if i pushed on it, i would have moved backwards.

how did you get yours to "stay put"?

also, do you have any trouble reaching the button to flip the cover up? i found that i could barely get my finger underneath of it to do that...

If i push on it with a little force it will move, but basically what i did was let it stick out and i turned on the radio. The head unit pushed it back itself into position and i never touch it again. My finger just barely fits too to open it, but it still looks really good, especially when the unit is closed. I'll take some pics tonight after work.

as long as the pyle head unit is a single din unit, the pocket will fit. opening and closing the pocket with the foldout monitor is a different matter.
