Question Where is this black pig (on wrc car) from?

Hope this is the right forum. I've looked all over swrt site and tried in google, but haven't figured out what this sticker represents. Anyone?

This is off the new WRC prototype btw.

oink oink

maybe it has something to do with a pigs squeel sounding similar to the turbo spooling(I may be totally off...cause I've never heard a turbo spool on a WRX...actually I've only heard one turbo before on the road). Or because the WRX loves to be in messy conditions and pigs like running around in the mud. Could be something to do with not being able to catch it in the mud/dirt(ever tried catching a pig in mud?). Wow...I totally BS'd all that but it might actually make some sense...

nice try, but somehow I think its sponsor related. It's just that swrt.com doesn't explain this particular one, while they explain which sponsor (and what they do/make) most of the other decals are for.

Anyone else? Subaru trivia gurus?

Thanks for mentioning that swrt.com has a sponsor list. I never even thought about finding out anything about them. It's nice to know what they are all responsible for...

Yep. If I'm not mistaken, the list has not been changed since they had the previous wrc version. It may be a matter of time before they add the black pig on the list.

Talking swrt.com answered

They said that it was a logo for a Japanese Young Magazine. I don't know if it means a magazine for the young or if that is the name of the magazine. Anyway. Thanks for the guesses.

In all fairness, I wouldn't be surprised if there actually was a magazine by that name in Japan. Some Japanese companies with English names sound rather out of place sometimes. Think of the racing seat company "Bride".

It sort of makes you wonder what is the significance of having a pig as a logo for a teen mag.

I always though that logo had something to do with Sammy (owner of Spike and alos WRC sponsor) since it also appears next to the Sammy logo on Tohishiro Arai's old (2000 i think) WRC car, but I just looked on their website and couldn't find anything. Hmmmm.....like the mystery number 33.

Default Little Rascals names

So Subaru, Robin, Young, Sammy, and Spike are all Fuji Heavy Industries companies? They should just use one name and logo. It'd look cleaner and make the name more memorable.

I say they rename the whole company 'Spike' and use the pig logo on the grille badge. That would be a car with attitude.

I don't think that Fuji Broadcasting is part of FHI. They're (Fuji Broadcasting) a large television company based in Tokyo. If you watch J TV in the US you've probably seen their "eye" looking logo a the bottom of the screen.

I know that Spike is owned by Sammy, which is a manufacturer of pachinco machines. Sammy also ownes several other companies. Not sure if Fuju broadcasting has any interest in Sammy though.

I'm not sure if Sammy has any connection to Young magazine, but after looking an Young's websit, I think the black pig is their logo. Especially considering that the logo is attached to the Young decal on Arai's junior WRC car.
