Exclamation 2004 Impreza WRX & WRX/STI SOA Media Pictures

http://www.nasioc.com/sti/media/

Has a good interior shot of the 04WRX with the new seats and the new gauge cluster. Two exterior shots (front & back) of both the WRX and the WRX STi.

Enjoy!

A few more are on their way to me via snail mail... as soon as I get them they'll be posted. In these there are some STi interior shots... so hopefully the gauge (redline?) questions might finally be answered as well as a good look at those seats.

Just a few more pics I gathered from http://media.subaru.com/
(If you want the originals, which are HUGE, you can get them there.)

Yes it appears that the wrx gets the same guage cluster.

Hey guys, did you notice in the dash shot of the MY04 WRX, the clock reads '555', coincidence? Just a little observation.

If that is just the interior of a WRX, what is the third pushbutton switch to the left of the steering wheel (where an intercooler spraybutton might reside on an STi)?

Wasn't that where the rear wiper sprayer was, in the wagon?

Also, the passenger side shot shows what look like switches in the center console. I don't know what those would be, except the mirror defrosters maybe?

They pay be a little OT, but how much and how hard would it to swap a 02' interior with an '04 interior? I love the new seats and color scheme, and still want to keep my side airbags.

hm. my rear washer sprayer is integrated with the wiper control stalk. mirror defroster comes on with the rear defroster. at least this is what it was on my 02 wagon.

i'm guessing it might be the infamous headlight leveling switch? otherwise i'm pretty clueless too...

Wagon backglass squirter is on the righthand stalk, functioning like a springloaded version of the headlight on/off switch.

I thought headlight leveling was automatic, not controllable?

is it automatic? wow i wish i had that... overseas they have a 3-4 position switch that allows vertical adjustment of the headlight beams via internal motors in the lights themselves. i was thinking that the HID equipped imprezas might have the swtich. some north american cars have them, such as the infiniti QX4.

Benjamin Tang - I was speaking out of ignorance. I just saw alfriedesq's classified ad selling his 2001 JDM STI headlights with the internal cabin leveling switch included. Sorry for the mis-information.

But the regular WRX wouldn't have that option anyway, right?

honestly i'm not sure either. *maybe* hid is optional on the wrx? i can only wish... i tried zooming into that switch and i agree... from what little i could see the switch looks like it has a windshield sprayer logo on it....

maybe it's the IC sprayer?

The switch could be the front wiper de-icer... part of the new WRX cold weather package (tho I'm not sure it's got its own switch, or if it just comes on with the defroster). The center console switches are for the seat heaters.... so it looks like these are shots from a US cold weather WRX.

sperry -

Now that you mention it, there are two seat heater switchs to the rear of the e-brake, and another unidentified switch next to the e-brake. What the heck is that? It sits right in front of the blank that would be used for the adjustable diff.

Well, now we know that button number #3 to the left of the steering wheel isn't the headlight switch:

http://community.webshots.com/photo/...60406288spFfds

And we know that the switch next to the e-brake is really the very same mirror adjustor I have on my WRX. Here is the DCCD adjustor:

Well, I got to sit in it today. Pretty frickin dope.

HID 4 way adjustment knob is to the left of the steering wheel.

When you adjust the diff, there are lights in the guage cluster showing torque bias settings.

Here is some bad news.... it is fly by wire, no throttle cable. This means that when true engine management is added, you will need to swap the throttle body. I am thinking Q45

The intercooler water spray bottle is in the trunk.

No pricing was anounced today. Pricing will be anounced sometime around April.

They expect to deliver 400 per month.

Mark Lovell started it up in the Peterson Museum, it sounds very nice indeed.....

Besides the throttle body, did you notice if it had a normal fuel system?

I think so. I seem to remember it having all of the fuel lines.

They claim a "semi auto" climate control and other picts from around the world show the Hvac system with the bottom lever gone and 3 buttons across the top. Hmmm? Why leave it in the US model?
Also, we get dual tips on the WRX exhaust whereas the Japan model gets one big one. And, the side skirts are still painted black and the Japan model it's body color. Too many silly variants that make no sense.

I noticed that the WRX had the side skirts painted, is that how they will come or will they come in black, like the MY03? also, the WRX drive-by-wire to or is that only on the STi?

What difference does having drive-by-wire make with power and performance??

Also, I know that the WRX and STi have had issues with fuel delivery to piston #2. I've read that this can be corrected with good fuel rails to evenly distribute the fuel. Can anyone comment on this and if this is going to be applicable to the STi?
