![]() Carter Subaru is legit.... otherwise look for private sellers, check carfax's and possibly have a mechanic shop check it out before purchasing.

![]() Take your time and wait for the one. It took me over 5 months to finally find a 2.5rs that I was happy with. Don't rush into something that you want, but really don't. What I mean is find one that when you see it you know you have to own that car.
I love mine! |

![]() Stay away from Walker's Renton Subaru. Go talk to Steve at Mike Scarff Subaru in Auburn. He's a good guy. If buying used try and find one with little to no modifications already. You'll have a better chance of getting something that hasn't been beat on.
Good luck! |

![]() Craigslist, PDX and SeaTac areas.
If you find one that you might be interested in, bring along someone who knows Subaru's (and has some mech skills). http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/883820047.html http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/882392659.html Now this one sounds to good to be true and theres no location for it. Hence, it could be a scam. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/881860267.html If in doubt, ask here. Last edited by TurboneX; 10-19-2008 at 08:18 PM. |

![]() Thanks
![]() If you buy a used WRX, I **highly highly highly highly highly** recommend spending the money for a mechanic or Subaru dealer to look it over and tell you about any problems, if there were modifications were they installed correctly, etc.. ![]() |

![]() In my case I was looking for an AWD winter car. Of all the makes
and models Eastside Subaru, was the best bang for the buck for me. No trade in or money down and I got into a car that has so far not disappointed me. Rocky |

![]() Eastside FTW, also good purchasing experience at Roy Robinson, in Marysville.
(Marred only by the fact that the lot monkeys pressure washed the intercooler and bent 99% of the fins.) I did get cashback for an STI replacement though. |

![]() ^116th exit off 405N take a left off the freeway-Used dept. is on your right, if Sam is still working there go to him. Go through the stoplight and new will be on your left.
Zach and becca are the two I've been working with at eastside, very cool, very relaxed they have not been pushy at all and I like that. I'm gonna for sure buy a car from them ![]() |

![]() +1 to staying away from walkers, And if you dont want to have a mechanic look at it, you can check for a few simple things that will tell you how it was treated. First if they say it was stock, check to see if the turbo heated shield is still on, if its not that means it has had some type of exhaust on it, next check all the couplers, if its stock they should all be the flat subaru black, also check the turbo inlet, often people have to cut these up to get them off and usually dont bother putting them back on, an aftermarket turbo inlet USALLY means it had an aftermarket turbo on it which means the motor could have some up and coming problems if it wasnt treated properly. And anyone will tell you stay away from anything that has a cold air intake, this causes subaru's to run lean, and if it doesnt have a fender liner it can suck up water. You can also easily tell if it has been wrecked, when looking under the hood or in the trunk make sure all of the plastic clips are the same and matching, body shops rarely use OEM clips because they cost so much, so if you have 4 different types of clips thats not good. Also check the door jams for any dents of wrinkles, these are rarely fix after a wreck. You can also feel the back side of body pannels for dents, small dents will just be bondo'd over and you cant see them from the outside, but you can feel them from the back. Make sure to get down on the ground and look at the underside of the car, if it is dented or scraped up that usually means it has been abused, also check to make sure the frame is ok (no wrinkles or dents) even after you put it on a frame straighten you can still see "wrinkles" in the frame. And lastly dont buy a used subaru from anyone under i would say 30, chances are it was modified and driven somewhat hard, and sorry if this offends anyone, it is not meant to, but never buy a car from a russain, it seems they are the hardest on cars. My car used to be owned by a Russain man... at 13K it needed a new tranny, at 30K it needed a new turbo, at 35K it needed new suspension, and at 50K it needed a new motor (yes my 20G may have spend up that a bit, but it had been burning oil since week one, and got worse and worse until compression was down to 40PSI on cylinder #3. Sorry this is so long, hope it helps!
