I would pursue SOA and mention the fact that the car is still under warranty and the wheels still have yet to be taken off because their recommended service for tire rotation is 7500 miles and you still have not reached that.

I've replaced 3 struts, all under 33,000mi. The dealership covered it. However, my struts keep breaking. They wont replace them anymore. They made sure to mention that the struts are now "new and improved."
What they're basically saying is they know the older struts are defective, but would rather pass the cost of replacing them onto the customer. |

2007 Forester XT Lower Control Arms
There was a recall on my car concerning the lower control arms and a corrosion problem. I had the recall performed at the dealer but noticed there is a tremendous amount of corrosion on both control arms. I took the vehicle to my friends shop and in his opinion it is impossible to have this amount of corrosion in the 2 years the works has been performed. The vehicle is garaged kept and only has 50,000 miles and never been involved in an accident. Has anyone else had similar problems with the control arms?

Make: 05 Forester XT Mileage: 185,001 Time Out Of Use: 1 week (and counting) Problem And Likely Cause: cracked subframe, caused by corrosion? Modifications: turbo inlet, phenolic spacers, hood struts Submitted For Warranty Work (Yes/No): No, out of warranty Reason Given For Denial: Milage and being out of warranty Your Story: Brought in to dealer for an alignment, found a cracked subframe and recommended I didn't drive it like that. E-mailed SOA with repair quote and they said they'd gladly give me a discount toward a new Subaru but wont give me anything because of milage. Got it inspected 7 months and 3,000 summer miles ago and passed without a bad mark, no crack spotted by me or the tech. I get the whole milage thing, but the rest of the car is in good shape and nothing like this is showing anywhere else. For a crack to show up after 3K miles when the car has had 182K put on before it without issue is weird to me. |

horrible customer service
I would like to tell you all about my subaru story and how they treat there customers. I brought my 2015 wrx in for emissions recall 2 weeks later my engine blows up.. subaru paid for the tear down of the engine, but hung me out to dry on the rest so I had to pay 2600.00 out of pocket to get my car fixed. Took them to court and I won, and 7 months later they billed me for the rental car that I had while my car was being fixed. Most of the contact I have had is with SAM BROWN, who has been a NIGHTMARE to deal with( not returning calls, stalling me on getting my car fixed, 5 weeks it took and i only reason it was not longer is because i paid the rest of the bill). I had the car 2 1/2 years with no problems, 2 weeks after they had it the engine blows up and they would not help me out. Beware of SUBARU and there horrible customer service. DO NOT BY A SUBARU, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!. I will keep posting this until they pay for the rental or until I have to take them back to court again ( which is probably the way it will have to work out), is this what u expect for a corporation?FYI no mods other then muffler delete/cia.....

Second, without more information, year, model, mileage, diagnosis, etc, you will get very few responses. Third, this sounds like a dealership issue, not a Subaru Corporate issue. Subaru seems to have helped you out (someone paid for the claim). If you took Subaru to court, you knew you had the rental and it should have been included with your claim. Your beef seems to be with the dealer. Not all dealers are created equal. |

I was coming home from helping my mother out because we just lost my stepdad so there is a lot she needs help with, she lives in the sticks about 25 miles away. Driving back from her house on Friday about 8 o'clock at night on the dark fast twisty newly paved roads 55 60 the whole whole way, seemed ok. I got to the last right to get home rounded a right hand turn and very loud rubber band snap, I said to my self that wasn't ok. I got up and checked out in the light and saw the sway bar end link broke so I went to pull out to get a new link and bolt, huge crack and the wheel is up in the wheel well. I think that end link was the only thing keeping me from not ending up against a tree at 50mph, thankfully that last corner to my house was a straight shot into the driveway. Its been sitting a week on a jackstand getting sprayed with liquid wrench. Last edited by medussa; 10-18-2019 at 08:55 PM. |
