If you could buy any one of these cars...
Hmmm...So many nice new shiny rides are now coming out or out already and i was curious what the concensus is on what is preffered..
I will list in order of what i prefer.. New Pontiac GTO...Getting incredible reviews from everyone. New Evolution RS...My kind of car.No frills, Just a drivers car... Or the new STi Why is the STi last on my list... Well, They tried to make a Japanese car too americanized for my taste..But it still isn't bad.

I've read that the GTO has a big engine with torque o'plenty, but still still can't handle like a BMW...but it's priced like one.
Nice looking interior though. Here's the new car that I'm excited about... |

I vote for the Elise too, that thing is amazing, a true bare bones sports car. And we actually get one with more power the Europe for a change.

i voted STI because in the head to head competition i know the evo won but the can be easily fixed. and plus in the straight line acceleration STI is 13.1 evo is like 13.3-7.
oh i and i hate pontiac that thing looks like it would be a slob in the coners |

I'd take the STi, why?
While a 67 goat is my favorite car of all time I think pontiac did a lousy job with the "new" GTO. Christ it looks like a glorified Grand Prix, they should take some notes from Ford. At least the Mustang Prototype and T-bird echo the glory days and bring new technology to the table. Boo hiss GM! The Mitsu is nice, real nice, but I still fear that they are built like crap and will not hold up in the long run. Stick to TV's Mitsu! So for 30K, I'd take the STi, lots of power, great handling, easily tweaked if you want to go down that path. Scooby are traditionally built like brickshathouses too. Throw some snows on in the winter and you can spank Eric L all over the place and send him home crying to his momma with a dress on!! STi please, Thank You. MH |

If I could afford any car I wanted it would be between a Mercedes Benz McClaren SLR or a Porsche Carrera GT.
Naturally they are way, way out of my price range. Joe |

GTO performs well no doubt. seems that GM got their act together on quality of materials, etc. But from what i hear its more of a cruiser than an all out performer.
if i was goin for pure performance. evo rs first, then sti then gto. |

mercedes benz amg with 5.5L anything is THE SHIZIT or the new BMW v10 M5 for sure will have around 550hp. those have me the most excited (and the slimmer m6)
the gto is just a slower corvette, camaro/trans am replacement that has the looks of a cavalier on crack...it just doesnt do it for me. so in your poll as far as looks etc and performance parts available right now its Evo, Sti, and a far last GTO |

i would go with the Elise, unfortunately i know how badly that engine/tranny set up misshifts and flattens valves. ot what i would envision in a $40k car.
i'd take teh STi or maybe this |

I'll avoid anything GM, except for the Corvette, since I've always been in love with them. My parents have been GM owners since before I can remember, and the quality has always been crappy.... crappy paint, crappy trannies, crappy handling, crappy crappy brakes on all the cars - why do the brake rotors have to warp on the cars every 10k miles? Big, heavy cars, with small, undersized brake systems. Won't stop for nuthin, and the brake fade is horrible. Me, I'd take the STi first, EVO second, and the new GTO dead friggin last. I wouldn't mind an EVO, but I can't get over the Mitsu/Dodge marriage... I hate hate HATE Dodge/Chrysler/Plymouth vehicles. -Gary |
