Default 5mt shift knob to 6mt stalk adapt

searched and didn't find so....

made a 6mt to 5mt shift knob stalk adapt for $11. here's how...

+ buy a 1/2" flare plug, $3 and change at loews. This threads perfectly and firmly into your 5mt shift knob. Also brass is easy to tap.

+ while there get a nut 12x1.25 to counter tighten against the flare plug, maybe $2

+ buy a 12x1.25 tap, $6 and change at Northern Tool. Sets at sears and northern tool do not have this size tap.

+ drill a larger pilot hole through the flare plug and at same time all the way through the plug end, sez use 27/64" drill, I bought a 7/16" and worked great.

+ thread the flare plug hole with the tap.

+ tighten flare plug into your shift knob...I placed knob in vise with protection on each side and made really tight.

+ thread counter nut then shifter onto shift stalk. tighten.

+ I zip tied my shift boot right below the shift knob to hide the brass and counter nut

+ reverse lockout ring works well from inside the boot.
