Thanks Ian. I didn't get to drive it much yet but it sure is fun so far. I am very happy with the results. A big thanks to all who made it happen.

Those are some serious numbers!
I hope your trans holds up. I would love an FXT with that kind of power. |

Any pulls taken higher than 6500? The power is still climbing at redline...

Hell yeah Greg, This is my favorite Forester.....next to mine of course!! You gotta get some more photos of your car up on here !
This bitch is gonna hurt some feelings for sure! My offer stands on the suspension work, let me know if you need any assistance in where to take your stock FXT suspension from here. You definitely need to pull the front cross member spacers and probably change some of the cross members and mounts but it'll be worth it....trust me! Back when I did my 07 6 spd swap along with Team Scream, Fractal, JoeR and a couple others, we all did the FCM spacer delete and then used all the STI cross members front to rear for perfect drive line alignment, we documented it pretty well on the Forester.org site. http://www.subaruforester.org/vbulle...es-pics-73266/
Some others said we did not need to delete them but if you don't then you need to use some FXT cross members and mounts and it's just not as clean. I also wanted to lower the car a bit and get rid of the truckster wheel gaps. There were some that tried to tell me I was raising the COG on the car by deleting the spacers......WTF??? Another couple of benefits from the delete is you gain another degree of positive caster and it also helps to correct the roll center! |

Yeah, I did my suspension and driveline as 2 phases. Suspension from an 06 with the front cross member and steering rack with 20k miles from a buddy who bought a salvaged one, suspension was perfect. I re-bushed all the pivots with Whiteline Poly street durometer, offset caster bushings, free caster mod and we drilled all the pivots all the way thru the steel bushing for zirk fittings including all my Cobb sway bar mounts, everything get greased. NO squeaking!! I've been tweaking it almost every year latest was WL Com C tophats, max +caster/ max- camber and custom delrin 1/2" front TH spacers I made. Handling is pretty sharp and easy to invoke over-steer with hard turn in or throttle.
I did the drive-line the next year from an 07 with 12K miles, all the cross members, modded the rear CM, no rubber bushings all poly rear 04 STI knuckle and struts re-valved by Odi at Feal for my Swift Spec R's. |

Cut and pasted from forester forum as I am too lazy to type....
Hey Dude.... Thanks for the offer to sort the suspension out. I will definitely discuss that with you as I would like to get that squared away. I will work on the build/power bragging thread thing. I have been having an absolute blast with this thing. The humiliation this thing causes is priceless. I was at a car show over this past weekend and chose to take the Woody instead of my 1971 Monte with a Shafiroff 582, TKO 5 speed and 9" rear. The looks the Woody got were hilarious. People do not even know what it is. I think I might just put a PT Cruiser emblem on it. On a side note, my girl took first place in her class in her pro street 1971 Pontiac Ventura............Good Times Quote:

That's very funny! I can't image the look on the face of an owner of a Porsche Turbo after you walk his ass! You'll have to actually take some photos of that to post up here! LMFAO!!
On another note, I decided to post some detail on my suspension and drive line swap in my thread. So here's the link to that post. I hope it helps! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...1#post40609951 |
