Yes sir. It actually works out well because I planned to be in SoCal this weekend anyway. So I'll fly down Thursday night and pick up the car then hang out for the weekend before heading back to SF Monday.

Most of you know that dealerships tend to want to see the trade-in vehicle to get it appraised, how do I approach to this if the dealership is 5 hours away, I'm trying to compare it between my local dealership and 5 hours away dealership and see if the trade-in vehicle would be more than $700 between those two dealerships.

I mean either way the deposit goes towards the price of the car once it comes in...but if your strapped for cash then just tell them you'll give them something weather its $200 or $1000 to hold the car for you.

I put down $1k . It was either that or $2k according to them.

Really shouldn't matter. If you can't afford $1k deposit you probably shouldn't be trying to get this car .

Boston 22nd or 23rd probably.
ETA for baltimore moved up from the 20th to the 18th.
I guess the boys @ Jacksonville moved quickly this morning with loading / unloading.

Still tied up, but I think they are done and just waiting on the tide which is low right now. If they leave at high tide for Baltimore they will egress the jacksonville harbor after lunch, which means they are probably ordering a harbor pilot now.

Sure it is. It's what you're getting for your $1k. You're paying someone $1000 and getting nothing in return for it right away, as opposed to when you use it for your down payment and get to drive the car off the lot. It also gives you more options. If the deposit is only $200 and then you find a better deal elsewhere or someone else gets the car you want in then it's pretty easy to just walk away from the deal. $1000? Not so much.

FWIW my deposit was $100.
