Exhaust question?
I am getting ready to buy an exhaust for my 2011 wrx hatch. I would like exhaust to be loud but not obnoxious. Any suggestions out there. Thanks for your time.

All aftermarket exhausts are obnoxiously loud but my ears suggests Cobb's as being the least.

SEARCH! There are a billion and a half exhaust threads on this site. It will all boil down to personal preference. Everyone's ears and thoughts/likes are different. check out youtube or a local subaru meet to get a good idea of what YOU like.

i have the nameless and i love it, it is very quiet at idle and cruising speeds. but when you go wot it is mean sounding no distortion or rattle like the cannon style exhausts, it's just a mean rumble that the subie motor is known for.

My greddy TI-C catback comes from Rallysportdirect this week! It's cheap, great reviews ( xluben has one on NASIOC ), and a single outlet. If you're interested, I'll let you know what it is like.

i think its sexy with a single outlet. i might do that instead of the quad but then the look of it looks like the civic hatches but still IMO beastly w that boxer rumble. like everyone else says personal preference.

I got a borla exhaust sytem on my 09 hatch..definitely very moderate...even acceleration thru tunnels. Running 3" all the way with a single outlet.

Well, there was nothing obvious about your supposed searching by your initial post. We see these threads a lot and there was nothing to suggest you did.
Back to your question. You're going to get such a wide range of suggestions that it simply won't help you out much. This is so subjective that my recommendation of the TurboXS GT series (I created the videos in the linked thread) may be horrible to others who think it sounds terrible. The best thing you can so is watch a ton of videos (understanding they do not accurately depict sound) or meet up with local guys using XYZ system to see what you think. |

I have an hks turbo back. It's really not loud at all. Has the resonators in the dp, doesn't drone. Not much louder than my friends stock evo exhaust.

Not everyone agrees what sounds good, and what does not. What is obnoxious to me, may sound great to you, and vice versa. That is why you get nasty responses to the ol' "what exhaust should I buy that sounds good?" threads. It's like asking what the best music is. The only way to know if you like how something sounds is to listen for yourself. If you are looking at a few different exhaust systems, a simple search on this forum will net you reviews of pretty much every single exhaust ever made for these cars. |

Here is the problem with your reply........
If you actually read what I asked, I want to know 'opinions'. I did not ask what sounds the best. I wanted to know loud but not obnoxious. OBVIOUSLY I knew I would get a lot of opinions. That is what I was looking for. I have listened to a lot of different types of exhausts, however, if someone drives by me, I can't actually stop them and ask what they are running. Try to give opinions instead of reflecting your 'frustrations'. No one cares!! |

Here is my 'opinion'. This is the best cat-back exhaust known to mankind. Get it or leave. |

we already have 1000 threads on this exact topic. if you couldn't find one of them, then your search skills (and basic KEYWORD comprehension) are absolutely horrible. stop replying, and go read the threads everyone linked you. |

Depends on how much you wanna spend. Sure Cobb is well know but you could also go stg2 for the same price as their cbe. Nameless is the best bang for your buck and is getting very verypopular but again, depends on what you want.

noun 1. A belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty. 2. A personal view, attitude, or appraisal. "Get it or leave" is also my personal attitude. You asked for opinions, and now that you get them you are saying it's "the be all end all?" No, that's what an opinion is bud. |
