Default 2.2k resistor mod not working

I have a catless STI up pipe on my 04 FXT and I'm throwing codes due to the lack of the EGT sensor. I did the resistor mod and reset the ecu and the cel went away, but then quickly three a p1301 again. I tried another resistor and same thing. I ordered some 1w resistors to try, but from everything I've read these 1/2w ones should be fine. Anyone have any ideas?

I can go that route if I had to, but there are a handful of codes associated with it and the resistor mod is (theoretically) far easier than tracking down all related codes and reflashing.

Are you sure you are getting the resistor seated in the pigtail?

IIRC it was kind of annoying to bend the leads into the connector and the leads were too long. Are you sure you're getting good contact?

I folded the leads back on themselves to make a better connection. Definitely feels like it's seated correctly, but honestly I have no idea.

Delete the codes, there is a list and itís easy to turn off. Do all the rear o2 codes, there is like 6 total in two groups.

I guess the resistor goes across the heater circuit, that will fix you o2 low and high input codes. I would think the slow response and cat efficiency code would still pull?

I think moving it 3ft back in the ex would work. Leaving it plugged in and dangling might work.

I still have both my o2 sensors, just missing the EGT on the uppipe. Right now I'm getting codes for EGT high output and misfire due to EGT, which is from not having a sensor plugged in. I'm not getting any o2 efficiency codes.

I think I used a 2.2k-ohm 1/4w resistor in my '03 WRX. That lasted a long time before I went to a reflash.

That's what I'm using. The wattage shouldn't matter as long as it's high enough, which 1/2w should be.

The last band is the variation. I would use gold or brown. Gl

It's a +/-1% tolerance. Should be perfectly fine.

This is what I used years ago, it worked fine for me. I still have them in the box with my Cobb AP.

The first resistors I bought didn't work but they ended up being the wrong one, simple mistake by me, ordered from Amazon.

Would also recommend seeing how much it costs to have a muffler shop weld in a bung for the egt sensor..
