Default how to remove light scratches from a clear cloat

I'm talking about LIGHT scratches such as fingernail scratches near the door handles, etc. I was thinking about trying trying the billy mays fix it pen but i've read bad reviews on it, does anyone know if it works?

If thats not a good idea, what is the best way to remove scratches? i know ill need some sort of rubbing compound, polish, and wax. Can anyone suggest some brands and walk me through how to do it?

You need to add a question mark at the end of your title.

I detail cars for a living, i cant speak for a lot of brands, but i use auto magic products which are great. For light scratches, go over the area with a clay bar to make sure there are no contaminants in the paint. If there are and you dont get them out it will just add more swirls as you buff. Start with a medium abrasive glaze or polish. I use "New Car Glaze" from auto magic. If they are a little more stubborn and you need something more abrasive, use a compound like Magic Cut XP. Then finish off with a wax and you should be good to go.

good OTC options are meguiar's swirlX and its stronger counterpart scratchX (only if needed). +1 for thoroughly cleaning the area prior to applications.

Meguiar's fine cut cleaner should do the trick. I use this stuff for everything, light to medium scratches, paint scuffs, even carbon build up on the bumper.
