Question What should I expect to pay for an EJ25?

I have a friend whos looking into buying an EJ25 engine with low miles. He also wants a tranny from around the same year. What should he expect to pay?

It'll take a pound of potatoes, quarter pound tomatoes, 2 onions, 2 litres of water, and 6 teaspoons of salt, oops, wrong board...

I bought my ej25 lower end(no heads) for 200$ from a wrecking yard...it broke a timing belt and the valves were all bent up, and I had heads from another project so I didnt need the heads..I could have gotten the whole thing for 350-400$..It was outa a 98 with 8k miles on it when I got it a year ago...
For a good runing motor, 1200-1400$..Make sure the timing belt hasnt been broken on it, or if it has, the heads have been rebuilt..

it all depends on which phase motor you are looking for juts be careful who you buy from and make sure you do your research to be able to tell if you got screwed.

my phase 2 1998 hybrid with 37k on it comes out of my car monday and i will be asking 500 for the shortblock from the guys around here.... now they have heard it run and most have driven it so they know it is safe bet... nothing wrong with it just putting an ej22t in instead.
