Subaru Stars 2.5i > 06/07 WRX Brake Upgrade

I know that there are tons of threads on this topic I can't find any for the 2.5i. What would I have to change to make the 06/07 WRX brakes fit. I have the calipers already but I'm not sure what else I would need to swap out.

Hopefully I can make a write up on how to do it for 2.5i's so others can do it in the future.

The fronts will bolt right up. The rears will either require you to use the 06/07 WRX dust shield or remove part of your stock one or bend it back. If you don't use their dust shield then you also have to get the 2-pot adapter.
Other than that, just make sure your wheels clear the calipers.

Okay cool. Will the rotors work with the calipers, I thought the WRX had larger ones?

Another question: Will 97-99 LGT wheels clear 4/2 pots?

quick answer.. Yes they will bolt up onto your car. Minor modifications like said, rear dust sheild. With larger calipers means you need to have matching rotors. What do you think would happen if you ran those calipers on your 2.5i rotors?

I don't think thos '97-99 LGT wheels will clear without the use of spacers to move the spokes further out from the pistons of the calipers. 2.5RS 98-00 wheels will clear.

I thought you had the 06/07 WRX rotors already but if not then grab some.
Those wheels won't clear without spacers in the front.

Sorry for dusting this old thread off but all of my research on this topic has given me a lot of mixed answers anyway would you need to swap the brake master cylinder as well? (07 wrx to 07 impreza) because you're going from a 2 puck to a 4 puck in the front and a 1 puck to a 2 puck in the rear my understanding is with bigger brakes they need to allow more fluid pressure so I think I would need to swap the master cylinder and if so would I need to swap the ABS module too? Also would it need to be reprogrammed to run properly?

I did end up doing this swap. You DID NOT need to swap the master cylinder. What I ended up swapping was the calipers, brake lines (optional), rotors, and dust shields. The dust shield was the most difficult part being that you had to disassemble the entire rear hub and parking brake, but it wasn't too bad.

Over all there weren't too many problems and the swap was well worth it. Highly recommended.

Sorry to dust this off one more time, I plan on putting WRX Rear Brakes on my 2.5i to start my "WRX Conversion." Did you end up not needing a 2 pot adapter?

I know I’m a year late on this, but I did it using adapters from Kartboy. You can do it for cheaper using oem wrx dust shields because the caliper mounts directly to them. Doing it that way is quite a bit more intensive as I believe they’re press-fit, but not impossible to do.

To sum it up,
Adapters
Quick
Easy
Costly
Oem dust shield
Lengthier install
Quite a bit more intensive
Cheaper
