And yes, the GC8 will be remembered as "the" Subaru.
Which was never imported to the States.

All we got was the GM6.

It's like Inception up here with how many levels of "kids these days" we're at on these forums now. But I think this is the best, when the kids of the kids these days kids are complaining about the kids these days.

GC6 = 2.5RS sedan
GM6 = 2.5RS coupe
GF# = wagon

GC8 is the generic term for first gen Imprezas.

I stopped waving at the newer Subaru Imprezas because most of the time it was actually a Camry.

I ****ing hate my roof rack. Not only is that **** tacky and stupid looking thanks to these ****ing ricers that carry their goddamn huffy to car meets, but the POS Yakima also ****s up the paint. I only use it for out of state bike hauling and have to masking tape my roof to protect it. ****ing **** sucks. I bought a seasucker rack for short bike hauling trips so I can toss it on and go, and pull it off when I'm done.

Just sayin cause I'm a 15' WRX driver, some of y'all old heads don't wave back to me. I thought it's cause some of y'all older model drivers think we don't appreciate the other body styles. I get more waves now cause it's 2017 but when I got it in 2015 almost no waves back to me. Felt pretty sad lol

Absolutely agree! I have a 2017 WRX and I wave at everyone, but still only get waves back from like 2010 and older subies. I've had an RS, 07 WRX, 04 STi and 08 STi. Back then, ALWAYS got waves...

I owned a WRX from 08-11 and almost no one waved.

Not really sure why you are so butthurt over this. If you want to be part of some pseudo-cult then buy a Harley and do that retarded low down stiff armed peace sign thing those geriatric ****s are so fond of.

As a first time owner in 2015, I had no idea this was a thing. It took me a little while to realize why random kids with flat-bills and white Oakleys kept waving at me.

Funny, I thought this was an all-biker thing. In fact, it was really rare of me to see someone on a Harley reciprocate. Usually, they're too busy feeling better than the other people on the road to acknowledge them.

Seems every 5th car here is a Subaru. So ~20% and out of that maybe one in 100 actually care. A guy I work with has a WRX and didn't know waving at other poor decision makers was a thing, he said "...well that's stupid".

The most I've ever loved a strange man was one that said he didn't want to buy a Harley because he didn't want to have to brand everything he owned with "Harley ****". IIRC he rode an Indian.

I've waived at the one other VW R owner that noticed me since we were basically the only two cars on the road. I keep vigilant and wave but I'm from the south so I'm generally eager to wave at everyone.

I'm purchasing my first Subaru tomorrow and I'm surprised to see that Subaru drivers wave at each other. This makes me feel like I am making a great purchasing decision. I had a Saab before and Saab drivers wave to each other too. I'm glad I won't need to stop waving at other drivers lol
