Question The OFFICIAL what makes a thread official thread

So, what does make a thread official? Officially, of course.

There are many steps involved. First, one must petition the moderators for "*OFFICIAL*" status. The thread is reviewed, a search is done for similar threads, facts are checked and lawyers are consulter. Secondly, a sub-committee of moderators deliberates, often for many days about the validity of the thread and whether or not an "*OFFICIAL*" thread is needed for said topic. Lastly a decision is made whether or not to grant status to said thread.

This process sounds simple, but politics and lobbying play a part and can often prolong the process by a matter of minutes or months.

This has been your OT Educational Consultation for the day.

That or the use of CAPS LOCK and astericks works too...though nowhere near as fun.

The starter has to have a big ego and think he is important enough to make an official thread
