I posted details on the parts list a few posts back and i'll post up details on the swap as I retrofit the parts in my bugeye.

After doing some research, it turns out the 04 Sti does have electronic climate control. You can see the electrical harness connection on the back of the dials in this picture.

The question is whether the 05-07 Sti climate control harness is the same as the 04 Sti?

Ah right, my mistake. The 04 STI's had the first generation of automatic climate control. I don't believe it had all of the sensors that the 05 did.

2004 STi has semi auto climate control. auto controls fan speed, a/c, recirc, but not vent zone.
I'm not familiar with the 04 to 05 console swap, but I wonder if it becomes full auto with the 05 HVAC unit?

I have an '05 console swap into my '04 and I notice a slight change in zone venting when I set it to automatic. However, I find myself still manually controlling it for faster response. Which means it doesn't actually work or it doesn't work as well as newer models.

I'd love to beta test one to see if we can roll out some kinks.

We just posted up a new editorial covering our views of the importance of great embedded electronics to create an environment for innovation in the in-car experience. We titled it "Your Car is More than Just an Accessory for your Phone". We hope you enjoy it!

Very cool but I'll be really interested when you are making parts for the VA chassis.

We're still working through the button designs and hazard button placement, but I thought I share a quick rendering with everyone.

Since space is a premium in the FRS/BRZ we're looking at using the same buttons as are used with our double-din 7" unit. The below rendering doesn't yet show the "grills" on both sides of the buttons (for the microphone and cabin air temperature sensor).

We're also still working on the hazard switch relocation to the far right of the bottom pocket that will re-use the AUX port opening. We should have some designs of that area to share soon

Another design update for the BRZ/FR-S. To get a better viewing angle we've started to move out the bottom "chin" of the display. This should allow us to tip the top of the screen back a bit more.

It will create a bit of an overhang over top of the lower pocket, similar to how the vertical "bars" between the toggle switches stick out a bit on the BRZ climate control.

This drawing also has the beginnings of the circular design for the hazard switch that will snap into the existing AUX input location.

Goal is to be starting the 3D printing of prototype plastics next week so that we can do some test fitting

It's not 100% finalized yet, but the current spec is 4V on the preouts

We do have plans... but we need to get our pre-orders rolling for our other vehicles first so that we have the capital to start in on more vehicles

Our pre-order campaign will be starting VERY soon

Another milestone reached for the BRZ/FR-S! We now have the initial 3D models available for 3D printing and test fitting. These are not the final plastics, but are meant to give us a model to test out proportions and fit in the dashboard.

So there will still be more revisions to come to incorporate all of the details from the final sketches. There's lots of 3D renderings in the blog post so check them out and let us know what you think

The FR-S/BRZ plastics are out of the printer and we're hard at work getting them sanded and prepped for paint. We're getting really close to test fitting these so that we can get a better idea of how it all looks and fits in the car!

The top piece was too long to fit in our printer, so we had to print it as two separate pieces and then join them back together.

Still working on the FRS/BRZ prototype plastics for the 10.1" Brainiac snap-in kit.

A few more rounds of filler primer and sanding are needed. But we're getting closer to paint!

We've posted up our lower pocket designs for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ to relocate the hazard switch. Our current direction is to pursue design 5.1

Check out all of the different designs and let us know if you think we're on the right track!
