Over the weekend I did my roof and entire wagon trunk, what a pain. My question is this: will this stuff stink up my car come summer time? I've only used dynamat and spray deadeners before. They didn't smell, I'm just curious if my car will.

right after i did my car it smelled for like a day or two.....and after that I cant even tell that it is there except for the very sturdy sound when the door is closing. I didnt believe how much better it makes the music sound.

Same as above. I noticed it sparsely for a few days after install. We recently had our first real hot and sunny day, and my car didn't smell at all.

Great, I'll get chopping on my doors and then all that is left is the floor. I'll only do it if I get a hold of new seats though, hate pulling all that stuff up for just sound purposes.

Hey Stephen -

I've done my roof, front doors (2 layers), and 1/2 of my trunk with RAAMmat 60. I can't say that the smell has really gone away. The other day my wife got in my car and commented about a greasy (as in automotive grease) smell. I thought about it, and realized, yeah, it does smell like grease. It's not an offensive smell, and it's subtle, but it's there. (Even a week after the last installation on my roof.)

I might try one of those ricey air fresheners to see if they can mask out the smell....

Did Raammat60 probably 6 months ago, car had an odor for a few days, but even with the 95 degree days we've had already this year, I have no smell whatsoever.

I'm curious as to what raamat I have installed. It has a tin foil looking back, road tar looking stuff on the other side. I ordered it 2 weeks ago.

Did 2 layers on the roof, single layer in the trunk due to fatigue of the first hot day of summer :P

Stephen,

I noticed a lot of benefit from doing the cabin floor of my wagon.

It is really not that big a pain -- remove the rear seat bottom, front seats (only thing tough is getting the stupid air bag harness to release), 4 sill trims, B pillar trim and two center console pieces. Pull the mat out and clean it well while it is out of the vehicle. Clean the seats too while you are at it!

Every Scooby needs a good spring cleaning -- so deadening the floor is a good excuse to get it done!

This is Raammat60, the same stuff everyone else is using currently. The original raammat was good also but not as good as Raammat60.
