Default The official "I hate holiday traffic" thread ..

Grrr ... took me 1.5 hours to travel 30 miles yesterday on my way home from work. Wilmington to MIddletown ... i-95 & RT1 suck.

Looks like it'll be worse today. At least I get to pick up my STi tonight That should make me numb to the traffic.

I think it's more like torture if you think about it: STi in traffic - just keep hitting the water sprayer

That doesn't seem too bad. 30 minutes for 10 miles?

Normally, that 30 miles takes me about 40 minutes, tops.

WRX11, good luck man, it's totally going to suck tonight. I've lived here long enough to know that you don't touch I-95 south in Delaware the Friday before a holiday if you can at all help it.

If you aren't familiar with the area, I can probably give you a few good back roads depending on where you're going.

I'm headed to York, PA on Sunday to visit my sister. I don't imagine that Saturday through Sunday AM will be too bad. Fear Sunday night into monday ...

I wouldn't advise moving to NoVA.

Thanks for the offer but where I am going, 95 north is really the way to do it. I usually don't remain in DE long. Any new constructions?

I miss the midnight runs with the semis.

Yeah, a spot of construction on just north of the RT1 interchange. Take I-495 around Wilmington - it hits 95 again just over the line in PA, they have a lane closed on 95 through the city - it's a mess.

Bah! My daily commute to work is about 1 hr 15min to 2 hr for a 30 mile commute. On the way home sometimes it's quicker.

I am not going to be in the city. I am going to visit the wife at camp. Which is about 2 hours northwest of the NY city.

Yikes! enjoy your drive Slim. I'll say hi to lady liberty for ya. She'll be hurt that you're not visiting her on her holiday. I'll tell all of the starving models and actresses you said hi too.

Agreed. I'm heading out of C'ville around 6AM bound for NH. Taking 83-->81.-->84 up into MA and then my usual route. Somehow, I feel the 95 corridor will be nothing but a large parking lot.

Good luck to everyone taking to the roads this weekend. I'll be driving back from ME next Sunday. Probably hung over after the wedding as well.
