Anyone need any 02 wrx parts? I did a complete tear down on another 02 bugeye that I bought. Now I really haven't even touched it since feb. Just a million pieces everywhere. No front end parts. Complete drivetrain, 2.0 Turbo, 5-speed, harness ecu, complete. 120 or 130k miles on it. rear diff, gas tank, no suspension, no wheels. all interior. I was really debating on doing the new factory5 818 car, but i don't have the time. I want a cnc plasma table for the shop.

I've read a lot about these conversions, but there is one part of them I'm in the dark on and that is what rear end to run with these v8 conversions?

I think the R180 will hold the 300hp but it will be a ticking timebomb. I will be using a R200 from a G35. Some of them come factory with vlsd and I got it for like $150 on ebay. I wouldnt trust the R180 with my n/a Impreza. Just too much abuse. |

^ R180 can handle substantially more than 300hp. Unless you're trying to pull the front tires on launch the R180 would be fine.

As for the question of factory subaru's coming with an R200 - none of them do, but you can get a custom rear subframe from TSSfab and I think MSI as well that will fit the R200. Then obviously you just need to buy one from a datsun or whatever that came with the right ratio and everything is sweet. I'm fairly confident the stock rear subframe just doesn't have the room for it. Expensive exercise but considering you're looking at running a turbocharged V8, probably necessary (and it's not like this is a budget build... what did you think you were getting into?). An r200 is effectively an 8 inch diff, and 9 inch diff's are SOP for all the v8, hotrodding etc guys. You'd be mad not to run one IMO. |

Thanks for the info guys! I'm running a supercharged 3.8l with rear wheel drive only in an 07' na subbie. I believe I have the r160 stock. I have a 8.8 ford irs diff and a dodge 8.25 irs diff that I believe would do the job. It's the axles that will be the difficult part. Sorry for the high jack....

Dude for real. I just spent like 3 hours of company time reading this thing. I'm not even mad. Also, that cut on your hand seriously made me want to throw up. I was not ready for that. Ugh .
