You know it's bad when the owner of the Lingerie League is hating on the replacement refs/more so the NFL.

TRENTON — Just hours after his beloved Green Bay Packers were victimized by a blown call, State Senate President Steve Sweeney announced that he wants to block replacement referees from working professional football games in New Jersey.
In a statement issue this morning, Sweeney (D-Gloucester) said he plans to introduce legislation prohibiting the playing of professional sporting events with replacement officials, citing the potential for increased injury by inexperienced referees who cannot control a game.

“This past weekend in the NFL has not only made a mockery of a great sport, but shined a very bright light on how important fully trained and professional officiating is to player safety,” Sweeney said in a statement. “We wouldn’t allow a factory or construction site to operate without fully trained supervisors on hand to ensure the safety of employees. Why should we do anything differently when the job site is a playing field?”

The push comes just hours after perhaps the biggest mishap of the season in the National Football League when referees apparently blew a call at the end of Monday's night's game that cost the Green Bay Packers the game. Sweeney is a Packers fan.
Good luck with that.

the packers lost because the mvp led offense have been unable to put points on the board this season. that and the atrocious play calling in the first half which mccarthy admitted...

The defense rocked after only allowing 7 points in the game.

Thats pretty much the argument I was having with my packer friends last night on the 3 hour drive home, who were pouring over twitter and espn and pumping themselves up about the call. Finally I just asked, "Dont you think you are giving the refs a bit too much credit here? What about the Seahawks defense holding your MVP to low yards and no TDs? What about the 8 sacks? What about holding Cendric Benson to under 50 yards, the 3rd starting RB to be held under 50 for the 3rd straight week? What about Marshawn tearing your defense up for nearly 100 yards?" Today, both of them are just as mad at the Packers as they are at refs.

And then there's this argument. It was ALL the chickens. Nope. One of the best offenses in recent NFL memory didn't fail to show up or anything.

And oh, Marshawn! TEAR UP THAT DREADED PACKER D. HE SHREDDED THEM CHEDDAR DRAPES.

You delusional, son.

people tend to only listen to other people's complaints when something bad happens that personally affects them.

i do get what you're saying, amigo but do you really want these refs to decide the future games of your favorite team?

what's not to say the seahawks don't lose a future game because of a similar call?

...think about this, we're barely done with the 3rd week

LOTS of time for more ****ups.

definitely agree that greenbay didn't deserve to win that game. they stunk the joint for the first 3 quarters...they were actually pretty bad...like cleveland brown bad (offensively).

Can we draft some of the replacement refs for our fantasy teams?

I was ahead last night by 12 points with nobody left playing. My opponent had the Packers defense and Jordy Nelson and predicted to win by 20. I won by 10 points. So I need to get some of these guys working for me.

Like I posted on here last night when I got back: I wasnt happy with how the game ended at all. I dont think the seahawks or packers offenses played well. I think the Seahawk defense still played great for most of the game. Would I want a ref to decide the outcome of this game? No. The point I was making that last years MVP and the 15-2 packers from last year came into Seattle and didnt play like the team everyone thought they were. Seattle's defense dominated them in the first half, and kept it close in the second allowing for one play to determine the outcome of the game. People are acting like the Packers were up 35 points and had it in the bag and the refs just came and said TD, seahawks win now. The fact of the matter remains was that the last play of the game was a short hail mary to the end zone to determine the outcome of the game.

The roughing the passer call was worse. That play was an INT.
