FYI, you can get all of the fluids from www.amazon.com

The total comes out to $28.32.

Not really. If you get all 5 quarts required it comes out much higher than that. You might want to check again.

For those who are waiting for the kit that I have put together, I am sending each of you a PM tonight. Please respond and I will ship tomorrow.

Anyone new who is interested, please shoot me a PM!

I don't see the Castrol HypoyC or the RL Lightweight shockproof on amazon's site (I see the ehavyweight shockproof...)

For those people who keep claiming that Amazon.com is cheaper, I just mocked up an order for the FIVE quarts of oil that you need for the kit. Here is what I got:

Order Summary
Items: $39.95
Shipping & Handling: $26.37

Total Before Tax: $66.32
Estimated Tax:* $0.00

Order Total: $66.32

The products also come from 3 different sources, so you can't be certain that you will get them all at the same time. The source that I quoted, Suncoast Autosport, sells it for around $50 shipped. You guys really need to check your facts.

1. First off, said "cocktail," consists of 4 Qts, the rear diff is optional.
2. Shipping for the 4 items was $16. I'm not sure what shipping you picked, but I took the default ground.
3. Plus it comes from only two vendors, Summit Racing and Midway Auto Supply. I don't care if it takes an extra day or two between receiving items.

My mistake for not reading all the way through. But your facts are just as skewed as mine.

When factoring in the 5th qt, for the rear diff with shipping it is $54.81. Again ground shipping.

FYI.. My Summit order came in within two days. I guess they are local to me in CA. The remaining items will be delivered tomorrow. Which makes it 5 days from order. Not bad at all, and within reason.

I'm not going to drag this out. I'm tired of beating my poor head against the wall. The kit I am talking about has 5 quarts of oil. That is what I have been talking about the whole time, if you took the time to read my posts. Of course, 4 qts are going to cost less to buy and to ship. We are comparing apples to oranges. However, it was my choice to include all 5 quarts, and that is the way my kit is being sold. If you don't want the 5th quart, buy from Amazon or wherever you can. Maybe Teiva-Boy has a 4 quart kit for you. Oh, and I'm sure that Amazon is including instructions like I am.

I am not profiting from this venture - I did this to try and help people. Its taken me a while to locate the ingredients, get them sent to me, box them up, and get them ready to ship. But please feel free to pad Amazon's pockets - for a higher cost! My calculator still tells me that $50 is less than $55, and I don't ship in 2 separate boxes. And, by the way, the first 2 buyers will receive their orders in less than 3 days total.

It truly amazes me that whenever someone tries to do something nice for the NASIOC community there is always someone to pull their chain. Where were you a month ago when people were begging for this kit? I'm spent.

I put in the cocktail over the weekend in my 04 WRX with 65k miles. About 150 miles later I can certainly tell a difference. THe 1-2 shift is a lot smoother and easier, and while 1st is still kind of difficult to get into - it's better than it was before.

Thumbs up for Uncle Scotty's cocktail

Is this true . . . The cocktail is only good for this many miles? Obviously it depends on driving style, but still 20,000 miles. Has anyone run this longer or knows what will happen if you do?
thanks

I imagine it will go back to the grindin.. But honestly I kinda wished I bit my tongue on that one.. Doesn't the owners manual suggest a switch at about 30K? Its always nice to keep fresh stuff in n-e-ways

I noticed a 'difference' after 16k-17k miles and by~20k it was apparent that changing it would be a good idea....I never went past ~22k miles on it.

I'm sorry, I'm complete n00b, and this might seem dumb, but do I premix all of these fluids in like separate container first then put it in? Or is it OK to just pour it in separately and it'll all mix in?

Also just to make sure, this will be suitable for 99 2.5RS right?

you can either mix it up (which I did in a clean milk carton) or you could just add your syncro and your lightweight then add your hypoy C. but remember NOT ALL OF IT! just the recommended amount.. I forget what that number is.

I just went to place my order and I can't find the kit on your site now. Nor can I find the link you posted to your site. I'm sick with a head cold and not operating as normal..... am I just not seeing it?

No, I am not allowed to either sell this or point anyone to where they can buy it any more. This is per NASIOC rules. I had the product removed from the website because it was too much trouble. It appears that it is ok to tell you to buy it from Amazon.com, but not from any other place. Go figure.

It sucks in that it had to end that way, and I am actually sorry it had to go that far.

But in reality, without knowing your true intent, things could be construed as you having a vested interest in making something it may not be monetary, but something.

Going forward, it's all how it's worded. If you had said, "I know of a shop that will put together a package with this exact mix, go here:." Rather then, the original post, I'm sure there would be no issue.

put the kit back up. Word will get out where people can get the kit and you'll be fine.

they can't stop you from selling it. They can only stop you from promoting it. Put it up on your site. Word will spread. Don't put any links on nasioc and you aren't violating anything.

not if he's affiliated with said shop in any way.

.....and judging by his posts:

Unfortunatly for me, no shipping possible to me :

Quote:
I have checked with FedEx, UPS, and the US Postal Service. All of them classify oil as a hazardous material and do not allow overseas shipment.
I will end up with anything 75-90 or 75-140 for hypoid gears...

so sad

Jamie. Do not do something as extreme as that. This thread has served a great purpose for many, even you should see that.
