Default 2015 Civic type R *Merged*

Just not here and as much as 300 hp.

Autoblog; http://www.autoblog.com/2012/11/13/h...00-horsepower/

Quote:
Not that we're expecting to see the car over here anyway, but we hear that the impending return of the Honda Civic Type R could bring with it a more powerful engine crammed under its short hood. Honda CEO Takanobu Ito has already confirmed the Civic Type R would return in 2015, and now Auto Express says that a Honda R&D employee has confirmed that this car will be powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine producing "as much as" 300 horsepower - earlier speculation had the car powered by a smaller 1.6-liter four.

Honda has already vowed to make the Civic Type R the "fastest front-wheel-drive vehicle on the Nürburgring," so this much power doesn't seem out of the question. We already spotted a Type R test mule putting some laps on the 'Ring earlier this summer. Other reported details about the new Type R include it retaining its front-wheel-drive layout but adding a limited-slip differential and possibly even rear-wheel steering for optimal performance and handling.

Man they have been sucking bag in the USA since 2001, and aren't looking back either. That's exactly what people want...a overpowered fwd with hienous torque steer in the ugliest body around.

Yeah, I agree. Even though I've happily owned an Evo since 2006, I've had this weird urge to pick up a used 2000 Honda Civic Si, but all of the ones for sale are typically in mediocre condition and/or modded poorly, but I guess you have to expect that when considering what is now a 12+ year-old car.

A few years ago, I convinced my father-in-law to buy a low mileage 1999 Civic Si that is 100% stock, for a really good deal.

He said that he would hardly drive it--I told him that I knew that, but promised he could sell it in a few years for at least what he bought it for... .

I have been tempted to buy it myself.

AND THEN MOD THE ***** OUT OF IT!! jk

Is this the new ****ing thing now? 3D taillights that protrude half a foot off the car's body? Thanks, BRZ.

Toyota and Honda have been doing this for years. The BRZ isn't nearly as bad.

Nailed it.

Or a heavily Autozone modded Marix.

That thing is so damn ugly. Who signed off on that ****? No wonder they don't bother selling it here. When the enthusiast community said they wanted the new civic to look more like an EG, they meant the Civic from the 90's, not an egg.

I miss my EG. I dont see why they dont bring the Type R here I think there would be enough people that would buy it just because it says Type R. Those mugen civic seemed to sold well, seemed to cost close to the same price as a STi..........

What is with the plastic trim around the wheel wells? Probably a good thing they won't bring it over here as that hideous car would be a tough sell to even the biggest Honda fanboys.

Why is Honda so intent on destroying the Civic? What once was the by far the best compact car in the segment is now an also ran.

Guys stahp. Stahp guys.

That's a pic of the current car being used as a mule. That is not the 2015 Type-R.

This thing is going to be a screamer. Ugly, but a screamer none-the-less.

I learned on an F-150. Tried to buy a '99 Civic Si, but the dealer would not budge from MSRP, and added about $4,000 worth of body kit parts. So instead of paying $21,000 for a $17K Civic, I did the smart thing, and bought a manual Prelude for $18.5K

I would love to get my hands on a low mileage stock 99-00 si for a DD. After the killed off the b series the Honda usdm market has been a joke..

Are you kidding me? The K-series engines are possibly the best family of engines Honda has ever produced. The problem is that when the K-series was introduced, the line of "Fun" Hondas left the US market. For a while we only had the RSX type S, then the 8th gen Si (which was nice for a year, but was horrible out-gunned by about 08). The K-sieres itself was fantastic, it was just introduced at a time when Honda was expanding into the US market in spades, and consequently the enthuast niche of Honda started exiting stage right.

We had an awesome car in the Type S, and the Si was a nice upgrade. They've just stood still for 8 years.

2/10 only reason not zero is because of honda making a turbo engine.
