Default 08-10 Impreza WRX Liberal Albero Front Bumper

Guess I should put the info I have for this in one place.

This is my 2010 WRX with the Liberal Albero front bumper installed.

So I've been sportin this piece for about 6 months now and I'm super happy with it. As you will see it's a ridiculous amount to pay for a bumper, but the heart wants what it wants or something...

Anyway I had Garage Spec import this for me for $1100, it took a while to get here on the boat since I was waiting to sync up with one of there shipments from Japanland. Once at their California office it was another $300 to get it to Texas. This was still allot cheaper than getting it from Japan Parts, though it would have gotten here allot quicker I suspect .

Just want to say the guys at Garage spec were great to work with, they get Roid's Recommendation(TM).

Then to have my body shop paint it and put it on was about another grand, that catch is that if you want to keep the front crash beam you will have to cut a bit out on the sides of the metal beam itself and a bit off the back of the main opening to fit it. Don't know how it will play with a FMIC, though I think it will work quite well. I'm not sure if the JDM bumper beams are slightly different than ours or Liberal just assumes you'll remove the beam like a fool.

So all in, it took ~$2400 to get this on the car. (Man that would buy a sweet turbo, but hey it is what it is.)

The piece itself is quite nice and includes 3 mesh grills, and built in mounting brackets for the OEM fog lights (or in my case fog-light-hole-mesh-plug-things).

The body shop got it fitting very flush, as good or better than OEM. So its a quality piece for sure.

Also one of the neat things about this piece is that it's modular with all the lips and grills made for the OEM bumper (with the "premium bumper" Aero kit that was included on the 09/10). So you can use whatever you like with it, I'm currently using the stock grill (painted black on the bottom) with the CS style front lip (painted black).

Whellp, that's enough jibba jabber, time for some pics.

The piece comes in this glossy black finish ready for primer/paint.

Here is the fog light hole and a vent for the small included grills, I think they also make LED lights that fit the smaller hole.

The back is exposed fiberglass, with brackets for fog-lights.

And here She is with the lip installed.

Here are some more "angles" for "reference", certainly not because I'm a whore.

Great looking car. It's subtle but looks much better than stock. Wheels/tires?

Thanks! Yeah that's why I really love the kit. Keeps the car clean while still adding some aggressive features.

Currently, wheels are 18x8 TSW Nurburgrings +45. Tires are Michelin pilot super sports, 245 - 35.

AAAAAAH! $2400 and then you took it on the track!

J/K man, I think it looks great. It'll be obvious to other owners but subtle to everyone else. Quite the opposite of some kits that can be cop magnets. The body shop did a stellar job as well.

lol thanks! Not too worried about damage, fiberglass is pretty easy to patch up.

Thanks! Yeah pricey for sure, but I don't have any remorse... yet.

Running Eibach R2 coilovers with Vorshlag Camber-plates. Also Eibach Sway-bars (forget which end-links I got). These pics are with ~-1.5 front and -2 rear. Though I'm not sure I would recommend the coils at this point, not enough travel imo.

Love the wheels too TSW ftw!

Have you installed any kind of support for inside of the bumper, insulation perhaps?

I've been thinking of getting this bumper but man I couldn't imagine hitting a random bump and bang, splitting the fiberglass.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I was looking to purchase this same bumper for my 2009 wrx. They have one for sale but I must choose the option of S-GT, 20s or 15s model because it’s from Japan. Any idea what option you had to choose so that it would fit? Thank you!

I think it shouldn't matter. I believe those are all the same body style. Like how the WRX, and base impreza are the same body over here. The bumper should fit all of them. I think our WRX is basically the S-GT over there.

Grats and good luck, remember you have to modify your front crash bar if you still have the stock one. The shop that installed mine had to cut a bunch of metal off the sides.

Sorry to revive this thread, but I'm in love with this bumper... I'm curious as to the bumpers compatibility with lip spoilers... will this fit any splitter that is compatible with the normal 08+ bumper or is it proprietary?

Yup should work with any lip spoiler for the 08-10 wrxes. The bottom part of it is basically identical to stock.
