A-man,

Where and how do you have this mounted?

In the stock location with industrial strength Velcro. Probably not the best mounting solution in case of collision but nothing short of that will loosen it. Nonetheless it has always been my intention to get a proper small battery tie down for it, I just haven't.

Default lightweight battery replacement

Has anybody run the battery tender LiPo battery yet in a DD? I picked one up a BTL35A480C their big 480cca to save space in the stock battery area... Iím getting a bit nervous about over charging while driving on the street?

Hey A-Man07,

Considering getting this battery from Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Shorai-LFX36A...ct_top?ie=UTF8

Seems like this battery has performed very well for you. Did you have any issues mounting the battery? Did you need a mounting/tie-down kit?
Also, did you buy an external charger or something, or does it work fine without any mods?

Thanks!

The Shorai batteries come with adhesive-backed pads of various thicknesses and sizes to accomdate for the smaller battery size. You can make a mount easily with J-hooks from an automotive store and a piece of aluminum stock from the Home Depot.

I would highly recommend the Shorai charger. It conditions the individual cells and has a charging and storage mode. My charger and LFX36 have been in my Lotus Exige S for 4+ years. I also have a Shorai in my R1M.

Got this motorcycle battery: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...um-ion-battery. And the add-on brass terminals.

It saves some power for last-ditch starting. This is useful when you have parasitic draws.

Installed in June. Sits for weeks at a time and starts right up, without using restart.

Will go back to AGM for winter.
