Default Moore Automotive in Fairfax

What's up guys, I'm here in Front Royal and I've got a bunch of goodies I'm about to put on my 2011 Sti that will then require a pro tune. Myself and my guy Sweeny are going to put on the stuff and he uses Moore for his tuning needs. I've never really heard much about them. I could either go to them IAG or Mach V. Who's used Moore and what were your thoughts?

Thanks
Alex

Very good people at Moore. Their tuner is very knowledgeable. They tune high horsepower cars everyday.

More owners have had experience with MachV and IAG over Moore but that's mostly because of years of operation. With that being said, I haven't heard anything negative about Moore and the people that have had their cars tuned by them have been pleased.

I took my STi to Moore and was happy with their service. They actually knew my name after one time going. Never got a car tuned there but my Evo was tuned there.

I like Dan at MachV but the kids hes got working there drove me away. When I check last they were flying in someone from COBB to tune cars at MachV once a month or quarter. Something like that. Id give both shops a call if you haven't already.

Just to throw out another option... Killer B Motorsport is located down in the valley just east of Staunton off I-81. They now have an in-house dyno and Junior has been making trips there to tune. I got my STi tuned there by Junior back in October. Not sure what kind of deadline you're looking at, but you could always give them a buzz (no pun intended) and see when he's coming back to tune again.

CBRD is not far away either. They have tuned a ton of Subarus.

I have worked on quite a few EVO's and Subaru's and I know Chris at Moore and personally would take my car to him. I would stay clear of Mach V. IAG is very good too but it is a hike for me to send cars there to get tuned.

Sounds like a bit bias of a review.

Its very difficult to give an opinion while based on facts without hurting a reputation of someone. I work in this industry and i COMPLETELY understand that sometimes.... S*** just happens. I am only bias because of my location. not because I Know Chris truth be told, If I was the same distance from IAG and Moore, then I would go to IAG. Only because the owner at Moore and I dont really see eye to eye, due to the work I do on the cars he could be doing. My issue with Mach V happened about 5-6 years ago. where a friend took his STI there to get dyno tuned and found less than 1/8 mile driven on his car when he got it back. He actually took them to court and won or settled (got his money back) solely due to him having pictures and documentation of the mileage of the vehicle upon dropping it off and pickup.

Anecdotes are just that and should be taken with a grain of salt whether it's yelp to amazon product reviews or whichever forum you're on. Having said that, I personally have not been to MachV, but I (anecdotally) have heard they do great work through friends - nothing negative (yet).

Had the car pruned today Moore and can honestly say I wont be going anywhere else. The people were super cool and the tuner took it easy on my ol girl 2011 STi with 135k until he knew it was safe to push her. Even the owner came out shook my hand and thanked me for coming out today.
