no thanks to the horrendous turbo lag. i hear the car is a blast to drive, but i'd take an NA V12 599 any day.

fyi, mclaren's reason for adding one to the p1 is so you can enter emissions regulated parts of town.

veneno = track car/car i would have a gross desire to just want to drive at night
p1 = daily driver/grocery getter
ferrari = going out car, e.g.- nice dinner downtown

I'd tell you buy a mule, but that is a hybrid as well.

What's funny to me is I don't really recall you insulting the Ferrari. Didn't you just say something like " Its cool but, with 800 N/A hp is electric necessary? Imagine what it would be like as pure gas guzzler." Then everyone is like

Yes that is what I said.

I never did insult the Ferrari. That is what puzzled me about that whole thing. Perhaps insulted is the wrong word. I should have used 'questioned' Ferrari.

Who knows, this is the internet. People get mad over the craziest things.

It's not what you said its how you said it. I'm pretty sure the engineers for ferrari know a lot better than we do about the benefits of the electric motor and deemed it reasonable to put it in. There has to be some benefits to it and it will be shown with proven results. As to "whether it is better or not."

It's not as exclusive or fast as an STI, so it doesn't need one. I talked to the Ferrari president, that's how I know. True Story

I am sure there are benefits to everything on the car. The question is are the benefits outweighed by the baggage that come with them. And that question can only be answered by the individuals who will be purchasing them as they each have a set of ethics, morals, egos, wants, and dislikes.

I think when you get up this high in the exclusive world of cars, performance is not even remotely an issue. Style and image are more important. One would not buy a Pagani over this because it can do 0-200mph faster. You either like the Pagani or you like the Ferrari. Both will kill you just as fast.

That would funny, especially if the owner put a green leafy hybrid sticker on the car.

We have this parking lot at NASA that is 'reserved' for fuel efficient cars. My gosh I would love to park this thing there and give a prius a door ding. LOL

Sort of correct as it was the last model produced before Enzo Ferrari passed away.
Seriously hope they change the name of this car (though Ford will definitely have something to say if they even try to use "F150" again) .

If only I could own one....I would promptly turn all the driver aids off and turn it into a flaming pile of flaming red F1 technology. Then my life would be complete.

Indeed. There is this one dude that loses his mind anytime someone brings up electric motors or automatic transmissions.

well at least it doesnt weigh 4000 lbs like the 918 hybrid. Then Again ferrari is a bit optimistic with their weights (read: they are liars).

Also take it easy on electric motors, they are more or less fantastic. Instead point the finger at batteries and electrical storage devices. They are terrible and are the main hinderance to electric or hybrid performance cars.

If cars could have extension cords, all the top models would be electric.
