Interesting ring gap machine
I don't do engine builds myself to warrant buying one, but since they're local maybe they'll gap my rings for my build. I just like to know the measurements are spot on.

That is very trick. I like it, but I'm in the same boat. I don't do enough rebuilds to justify the nearly $900 price tag.

When sizing your rings you should always use the proper tool to make sure the ring is cut smoothly and at the correct angle. You don't need a $900 ring grinder to do this properly however I could just see it know, go ahead and stick the ring in there, spin that baby up to 5,000 rpm, and oops I just took off 10 thousandths
I've seen some hack job hand filed rings and you really want to avoid that. You can get a decent ring grinder for a few hundred. When you start adding up what it costs to get all the proper tools sometimes it makes more sense to pay someone to do it but if you're brave and crafty go for it Thanks, Phil www.elementtuning.com |
