Question Quick UP Question

I bought a helix up pipe a couple of months ago but haven't put it in yet. I was wondering though what do you do with the wires from the egt sensor? I know that its main purpose is to check egt's for the sake of the pre-cat, but with an aftermarket catless you don't need one. So, when you remove the sensor, do you just cut the wires off as high as you can or can you disconnect them somewhere?
