Default Control arm interchanges?

What part is shorter to make the GG wagons' track narrower than the GD sedans?

Are FXTs the same control arm and swaybar parts as the base Forester? Same as the GD sedans including STI (Different than gg)?

Why do I see people putting GG WRX control arms in their Foresters for 'stance'. How does narrowing the track help them? How do they fit their axles and sway bars? Makes me doubt my whole understanding.

I've got an 05 FXT with a bent control arm. And an 02 wrx wagon. I've got an 05 sti drive train on it's way to go in the 02. It sounds like the complete STI suspension will be migrated over to accommodate the STI axle length, including the longer control arms. I assume my 02 control arms will not fit in the FXT, so it appears I need to go ahead and order an additional Forester control arm for the XT, which I'd like to pick up from a nearby salvage yard from a base Forester.

I would just compare what I have, but my FXT example is bent.

Am I misunderstanding anything above?
