It's a shame, they did a lot of things right, and overall I've been very happy with the PH1.

Edit: Read the blog post, last security patch was 2/3 update, might have to start looking for a replacement then.

How bad of a security boo boo would it be to simply continue to use the phone until it fails? While it's going on 2,5 years old and the antenna band has come apart, it works just fine still.

They'll give you one of those. For money.

Welcome to the Dark Side!!!! They originally came with the adapter. Guess they stopped doing that.
I have an extra one, since I don't use it.
If you want it- let me know and just pay shipping?

I have never had noise canceling headphones, but I have had many different headphones before.

I got the Sony WH-1000xm3.

I'm super impressed.

I'm still using the S8+ for my work phone

I have the Bose QuietComfort 30's and they're nice. I'm just tired of having the neck piece attached.

I have those too, very nice headphones. Works wonders on an airplane. Sadly I don't find much use for them in my day-to-day routine except for the rare occasion when my GF is asleep in bed and I want to stay up to watch Netflix or something, but generally speaking we sleep at the same time. I don't want to use them at the gym as I prefer earbuds for working out, plus I don't want to get them all sweaty.

Looking forward to the Pixel Buds when they come out which will probably be my go-to for the gym.

I had some debris/lint in the usb-c port on my 3XL which apparently caused enough misalignment or negligible connection that I melted the end of one charging cable and could not get any others to connect to charge. Cleaned it out with the pick side of one of those tooth flosser things (those work great BTW) and get good detent when plugging in but the connection is really sensitive. If I touch it or any jostling happens, like hitting bumpy road in the car, it goes in and out. I have 2 months left on 1 year warranty but the best buy guy I talked to said it seemed reliable and wouldn't warranty it.

Solution: Use a wireless charger.

OK, so pony up the $100 or so to get the charge port repaired.

pixel 4 is $400 off at tmo.

$900 was a hard pass on this, but at $500, this is tempting. I guess that's the point.

Yea, both Pixel 4s are $400 off at Tmo....tempting is right....

Though I will say that my wife has a 4XL and while it's overall a very good device I feel like the indoor photography, especially when motion is involved is only on par with the older Pixels. That and the marginal battery life still is problematic for me. Leaning towards seeing what kind of value the 4aXL offers or I'll just wait it out to see what comes out that's interesting between now and the holidays.

Why doesn't Samdung offer all the models with all the colors? I never understood that.

Maybe, but the cause of the problem is debris build up through normal use. I don't recall any recommended cleaning/maintenance from Google. If it was 2 years old, I wouldn't give it a second thought.

It's no different than any other phone/port. Just blow it out once in a while.

The solution would be to clean out the lint trap in your dryer more often.
