..This is SpaMan reporting live from Silverstone, where I am near David Coulthard's Hotel room. From where I am standing I can see that David is rehearsing his speech for "why the car and the team underperformed this weekend."
I have also seen him gesturing several times toward his neck as though to practice some sort of "strangling-one's-self-while- operating-a-race-car" manuever. I'll report back when I know more.

Here we go chaps,

Quote:
Michael Schumacher took all of eight minutes to beat last year's pole time in the first free practice session at Silverstone today as Ferrari dominated the early running.

The world championship leader was backed up by team-mate Rubens Barrichello as the Ferraris held sway over rivals McLaren at the Woking team's home circuit.

Mika Hakkinen led David Coulthard as the Silver Arrows occupied third and fourth. Coulthard looked visibly ruffled by the pace of the Ferraris which is an ominous early sign for the Scot's chances of taking a third British Grand Prix victory in a row.

Heinz-Harald Frentzen was fifth for Jordan at the team's home circuit ahead of Eddie Irvine's improving Jaguar. BAR were given a boost as Olivier Panis and Jacques Villeneuve came home in seventh and eighth.

I love this one "Coulthard looked visibly ruffled"

<marquee>COME ON MIKA</marquee>

Default you know...

..even though I'm hoping to see Williams move into 2nd soon, it would make me thoroughly happy to see Mika just annihilate everyone once this season. Just dominate the race completely. The guy can do it too. I hope he doesn't retire...

Yeah,
I am a Schumi fan through and through, but Mika is just straight up cool, I hope he can win one and regain his confidence a little, he's too good to retire from racing. I will be cheering him on this Sunday, I bet he would cry if he was on the podium.

I'm the same way...I've got my favorite, but I always like to see Mika do well. I'd love to meet the guy someday, he's a class act, unlike his teammate.

If he does retire from F1, I at least hope he doesn't hang up his helmet completely. I don't think he would. It'd be WAY cool to see him in endurance racing or something down the road.

Have a Nice Day?

News Flash!

McLaren is fastest in pratice! If i was them, i would dog it a little on friday so I wouldnt be cursed on Sunday.

I would like to see Mika catch a break and be able to drive his car for a little while on Sunday.
Hey, if DC qualifies first on the grid for Sunday, I will personally garuantee that he will somehow select Reverse gear for the race launch!

Go Ralfie and Doggie

ps-i know they dont got no reverse gear

I was not too happy to see the Williams cars so far down on the list, but Ralf did make a huge improvement from the first session to the second. Besides practice times are good for two things, jack and s#!t, and jack left town.

Cool

I'm with donjuan, practice times don't mean anything. Besides, why are you all talking about Mikka and Schumy when you guys know Montoya's going to take the race on Sunday!

Montoya, yeah right, it will be either a Mika or Schumi win.

You gotta give Fred credit, he's sticking with JPM even through the crash-outs, spout-offs, and us calling him (JPM) names. Good fan

It doesn't matter though, JPM isn't even driving Sunday, he's gonna be out on a chili-dog binge. Ralf and I will be representing Williams

Colman touches the grass and goes off, the car spinning wildly and then coming to a complete stop in the gravel trap.

Hmmmmm
