Ive been told recently that this "Vishnu" method has been debunked, whatever that means. I never tried it until a week or so ago. So far Ive had tonuse it 2 to 3 times during modification and troubleshooting to my 2002 wrx stage 2. All I can say for sure is that since using it, Ive had fine knock learning readings far worse than ever before. Not sure why. Maybe its because it amplifies and problems you have going on. I wouldnt recommend this unless youre tuning and need to reset your ecu a bunch in 1 day to save time or something, but even then I dont see much merit unless your car miraculously is at 110% perfect operating condition. If Im wrong someone please correct me, I would love to rule this out as a cause to my recent problems.

This method is completely obsolete, see a couple posts up for a link to the right way to do it. This thread seriously needs to get locked, it's just a waste of everybody's time.

The problems you ran into weren't due to ECU learning, though. If you're getting a lot of FLKC you almost certainly just need to reduce timing, add fuel, or find better gas.

Thanks buddy, will do. Im running a 91 octane map but I only run Shell v power 93, always. Its the best weve got here. Im still running an off the shelf tune but I have a protune scheduled for July 7th. I was ready to cancel it because of these problems but I think itll be ok until they look at it. Im gonna check out the link you mentioned right now and I agree, this thread should really be edited and locked or closed.

Doesn't matter. Read the last few posts and you'll see why.

Ive chuckled about this since the first post was made. Set initial iam to 1 instead of .5 with 32 bit ecus. For 16 bit ecu's set to 16 instead of 8. Done lol.

I just PM'd a moderator to get this unstickified.

If there's interest, I can remove the parody bull**** from my version to make it sticky-worthy instead. Not sure it's worth the trouble to clean it up though.

No response from moderator.

I guess this bull**** is going to stay sticky for a while longer yet.

This works like a charm on the stock ECU. After removing the intake silencer, the resulting less turbulent air (delivering more consistent reading to the MAF) enables more power. My '05 Saabaru turbo is 5-10 hp stronger than before removing the intake silencer and performing the so-called "Vishnu reset", (and the turbo spools much quicker and waaay louder ). It is definitely noticeable.

There's a better way. Not sure why the moderators haven't un-stickied this thread yet, but it's completely obsolete.

That would be the most interesting use of this clusterfork of a thread since about ten years ago, so I'm all for it.

What year is the ECU and what year is the engine?
Have you verified that you're getting spark, fuel pressure, and fuel from the injectors?
