And that's not me just getting used to it, not recognizing crap anymore. Going back and forth between some pretty nice cars, really confirms it for me. Same with how the car drives. The tacky rattle trap just doesn't leave me wanting. From the last 6 years, only car I can think of that made me sad to get back into the WRX was an 81 911.

But yeah seeing this thing on sale new is strange, like a living fossil it feels.
I have the STi short shift on my 2015 making 300hp/350tq at the wheels. 60k miles in. Nothing wrong with this gearbox, in fact itís pretty damn good. Iíve only bought manuals my entire life (43yrs old). People are just looking for something to complain about. A 8th gen civic? Haha ok.

Some of you guys live on another planet:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.motortrend.com/cars/subaru/wrx/2018/2018-subaru-wrx-first-test-review/amp/

Frequent shifting on the figure eight is common for a sporty car, so having a smooth, quick shifter helps. Unfortunately, that's not how the WRX's shifter operates. "The shifter is so notchy and with long throws that it really takes up valuable time," Walton said.

That was the first review I found and it perfectly matches my experience ó because I donít need to justify my ownership experience.

Iíve modded virtually every 6MT Iíve owned. If the throws were long or sloppy, a SS, bushings, there was always parts to fix it. If it has a 6MT these days I donít even care. As long as there are mods to fix Iím happy to drop the $. Beggars canít be choosers. This isnít the 90ís were you had manual transmission options out the A.
